Dr. Virgilio Chan, MD

Dr. Chan is a phenomenal physician who has done & continues to do a remarkable job effectively managing my spine-related pain issues. Interventional procedures including both RFA & L4 selective nerve root blocks attenuate my pain significantly, reducing the need for several different types &/or higher dosages of medications to manage my chronic pain conditions. Additionally, Dr. Chan works to manage my pain further with low-dose PRN medication, allowing me to have more functionality & better quality of life. I couldn’t recommend a more compassionate, kind, brilliant physician to truly, effectively manage one’s orthopedic pain conditions; he’s honestly one-of-a-kind! 5/5 Stars! P.S. Dr. Chan’s Staff at OrthoIndy are also stellar—everyone is exceptionally nice, competent, & helpful in every possible way!

I have seen dr chan for over 2 years and he is one of the rudest "doctors" I have ever met only wanted to push 2500 dollar injections and I typically had to see a nurse practitioner and she would decide if I need another injection and then he would come in and give the injection and leave I would not recommend this doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chan's for over 9 years. He is an excellent physician who has treated me for back pain, sciatica and other conditions relating to my back and left leg. He is a very compassionate physician and always follows up on treatment given, especially when I have been given injections - which I have had quite a few over the 9-10 years since I originally saw him. I often take my adult daughter with me and he has been very pleasant and cordial to her. My husband is very impressed with Dr. Chan as well and has often gone with me when I had an appointment. The injections have always helped me for several months and my daughter has gone with me to drive me home after the injections are completed at the hospital. I would recommend anyone who has similar symptoms like I have, to see Dr. Chan - you will be very happy to see Dr. Chan. I have already referred a good friend of mine to see him and she was very impressed with Dr. Chan and extremely satisfied with the… treatment she received. I will continue to refer my friends who have problems with back pain and other symptoms, to Dr. Chan. You will not regret your visits with Dr. Chan. He is a true medical professional and a very fine person.

Dr. Chan is very personable. He is an awesome doctor. Over the years I have been seeing him I have never had any bad experiences with him nor the facilities in which he practices.

Went in with hip pain and Dr. Chan told me only to stretch, which I told him I WAS ALREADY DOING. He seemed to shrug it off because he doesn't seem to listen to the patient. Then charged me $88 for this. I did what he recommended and months later I am still in pain. Why not recommend physical therapy or even an MRI to find out what the real problem is? I have been to Dr. Jack Farr at the same location with knee pain and he correctly diagnosed me the first time and found a way to resolve my pain with no medication and I have never had any issues return. I am very disappointed in Ortho Indy South because of Dr. Chan and will not return.
