Review of Dr. Kimberly Matzie: I underwent surgery for rectal prolapse on 06 Aug 2020 with Dr. Matzie. The surgery was a failure and her complete lack of professionalism, empathy and poor surgical skills have changed my life for the worst. At my 2 week follow-up I described the pain I was experiencing and she told me that what I was describing was totally abnormal following this particular surgery. Then she blatantly said to me, "I hate to be a b****, but you need to just suck it up". Those were her exact words. What kind of doctor says something like that to a patient? In frustration I sought the advice of two well respected surgeons as to why I was having the extreme post-op pain. Both surgeons diagnosed me with nerve entrapment or neuralgia of bilateral Pudendal Nerves as a result of the surgery. I have been told that I should avoid sitting, squatting, cycling, stairmaster and all movements or exercises which involve hip flexion for the remainder of my life to prevent further damage… to the pudendal nerves. I have also been told that the mesh she put in needs to be removed. I am now 7 months post-op and in chronic pain. I cannot overstate my disappointment and frustration with Dr. Matzie. Please make sure you get 3 or more consults before you decide on surgery and avoid Dr. Kimberly Matzie at all costs.
