The most negative experience I’ve had with a physician involved a doctor who was disinterested, condescending, and dismissive. From the start, it was clear that he was not engaged—he barely made eye contact, rushed through the appointment, and seemed impatient with my questions. When I tried to explain my concerns, he cut me off and spoke in a tone that was both patronizing and cold. Rather than helping me feel heard or supported, he made me feel like a burden for even being there. What made the situation worse was the lack of empathy. It felt like he had already made up his mind before understanding the full picture, and he didn’t take the time to explain anything in a way that felt collaborative or respectful. It was not just a poor interaction—it damaged my trust in the medical system, at least temporarily.
