Dr. Vivian Denise Campbell, MD

I was diagnosed by Dr. Campbell with a very serious mental illness after speaking with her only one time. This diagnosis caused so much damage and grief and stole so much from me and my life. It was not until much later that I discovered I had been misdiagnosed. Meeting with her is one of the biggest regrets I have. I would caution anyone who is thinking about potentially becoming her patient. A diagnosis is a serious thing and carries a lot of power and it should never be given negligently or hurriedly. I am sure there are many other psychiatrists in Charlotte that take their time, are winsome and kind, and who consider the weight and impact of their decisions. I would encourage you to seek them out instead.

Vivian Campbell basically ruined my life for 2 years. She knows nothing about medications and hands them out like candy. She had me on 32 different medications in a 2 month time frame. It took my nervous system just over a year to recover from her pulling me off one drug on to the next with no taper in between. Her interactions with me were horrible and she did not bother to listen to me. I would run from this woman as fast as you can.

I have been diagnosed with severe anxiety issues and saw this doctor for about 5 months. I was off work trying to return and having problems. One- she never listens and cuts me off. I think it's important a doctor understand what your history is etc and she treated me like I was some lazy person or something ( though I've worked my entire life). Finally I snapped when she told me to basically "snap out of" my co diction which every person on the planet knows you NEVER say to someone with panic or depression. Then proceeds to tell me she doesn't support me staying off of work despite having numerous panic attacks, continued depression etc. j walked out feeling hopeless and the only way I would feel better is to just end my life. Nope... Ending my relationship with her. Found out she used to be a marine which kinda explains this attitude that should have NO place in a persons recovery.
