Dr. Braly has done two different procedures on my feet and I could not be more pleased. Neither condition ever returned and I have been problem free ever since. I have also referred a family member to him, and the work he did was excellent. I trust his opinion and appreciate that he always seems to try to take the most conservative approach first.

Dr. Braly is a fantastic surgeon and I have nothing but praise for his services. He was a last ditch lookup for us when my wife was debilitated by CRPS. We had gone to at least 9 doctors who could never figure out what it was and we were losing hope. He diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes of seeing her, and a SCAN confirmed it. He removed the suspect bone in her foot and she made a full recovery and has no problems to this day. All I can say is he figured out what 9 other doctors in the Med Center and Galveston couldn't figure out. One of the previous doctors said she was going to be disabled for life. Fortunately we found Dr Braly. He is the right surgeon with the right skills.

Dr. Braly is excellent and his assistant Judy is top notch as well.

I had unhappy experience with Dr. Braly in many aspects. First, he arbitrarily changed my appointment with just 2 day notice. I have visited him 3 times, in which he changed my appointment 2 times. There's one time he cancelled my appointment 2 days before my visit, for which I have already paid for car rental and hotel (I'm not living in Houston). OK, if the surgery is good, I wouldn't complain about these trivial things. But unfortunately, I have to admit that choosing him is a wrong decision I made. The aim of the surgery was to take out some fractures in my ankle. There are fractures in three parts of my ankle. One was the front part, two were at the inner side of my ankle. These fractures were not difficult to see from my CT scan. Even I can identify them. However, Dr. Braly only took out two of them and left the third one in my ankle, which is the major source of my pain in ankle. Now, I am still bothered by the same pain in my ankle. I'm not living in Houston, I have spent lots… of money and time to travel to and back from Houston for the surgery and recover after surgery. Now, I have to make a second surgery to take the remaining fracture in my ankle out, which will take me a couple of thousands $ and another 2-3 months to recover. I know even a good doctor may make mistakes. But the way he diagnose a patient looked very unprofessional and irresponsible. First, he seems not like CT scan but only take X-rays. In my first visit, I showed him my CT scan made 4 years ago. He didn't require a new CT scan and only ask me to take a X-ray. OK, maybe the old CT scan was enough for diagnose. But after surgery, he didn't ask a new CT scan to evaluate the surgery. The remaining piece of fracture cannot be seen in X-ray but only in a 3D CT scan. Second, he only look at X-ray images, but didn't touch and move around my ankle to detect the real problem. It seems the diagnose was made only from reading X-ray, a 2D, old-fashioned medical image. I'm so frustrated. I've been away from my favorite sports for half an year and cannot plan for any ski trip next spring, because I need to have another surgery to finish the unfinished job of him.

Dr. Braly of Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston successfully reattached my foot in 1998. I suffered a catastrophic injury to my ankle that was termed a "near amputation". The only tissue left intact was a pencil lead sized nerve bundle and 1 small artery. From the ankle joint up about 5 inches there was nothing but bone chips. That was 1998 and he is still caring for me 13 years later. His personality is relaxed and friendly and you never feel rushed. He looks you in the eye and pays attention to every thing you have to say. His staff is the best. If you choose him, you have just made the best decision for your future quality of life. **The hospital's appointment desk is strict about your arrival time. If you are 10 minutes late signing in at the desk...you don't get in and must make another appointment. I learned not to do that a second time. Best of luck.

Dr Braly is wonderful. He's kind, caring and REALLY knows what he's doing. He diagnosed me immediately upon seeing me after 3 previous doctors couldn't figure it out after multiple visits. His staff is also amazing! I consider him one of the best. I would highly recommend him to anyone with ankle issues.

I've been seeing Dr. Braly for over 10 years and he did surgery on my foot.A few days after surgery I was having really severe calf pain and thought I might have a blood clot. When I saw him in his office I was crying because I was scared and in severe pain, and he never even acknowledged that I was crying -- never said "It's going to be OK" or tried to comfort me in any way. It turned out I didn't have a blood clot, but he was very clinical and detached during the whole visit, and I needed some reassuring, which he didn't give. I have heard this is very common among surgeons, especially the really good ones, so I guess it's something I can live with if I know he is the best surgeon I can go to.He's an excellent surgeon and did a great job with the operation on my foot, but he does not have a very friendly bedside manner -- he's not very talkative at all.
