Went to Dr Ma for diagnosis of gastro problems included chronic vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, reflux, feeling of fullness that lasted hours and hours past the smallest meals, etc. Was diagnosed with gastroparesis and Dr Ma prescribed Amitiza. Within a short time of taking the first dose, I experienced swelling so bad that my shoes left imprints on my feet. I felt dizzy and sick and like my heart was racing. I discontinued and went back to the Dr and she was very rude, even saying that that reaction was impossible. Why would I make that up? Then put me on Reglan, and I started experiencing uncontrollable muscle spasms/tics which I later found is a known side effect of Reglan, so much so that there are numerous class actions against the manufacturer. When I went back to Dr Ma and said I wanted to stop taking it, she said "If you're not going to help yourself, I'm not going to help you." Are you kidding me? Her recommendation, despite my discomfort, weight loss, and nutritional issues… due to malabsorption, etc, was to give myself regular enemas. Then she basically walked out. Obviously I never went back. Maybe other people have had a better experience, but in my case she seemed pretty disinterested, unpleasant, and unconcerned about her helping her patients. I don't even trust her diagnosis is accurate at this point.
