Dr. Wallace Lee Huff JR., MD

I have been to Dr Huff several times and I've always been very pleased with my care and diagnosis. He has done three surgeries on me. I recommend him to everyone that needs an orthopedic Dr.

Best personality bedside manners very friendly explaining what he was going to do. Staff was wonderful. Can’t remember the names. Sorry first nurse before surgery. Great personality talkative as well. All great after surgery. Nurse had a great personality talkative. Anesthesiologist explained what he was gonna do but the nerve block and more the operating room staff was phenomenal. Highly recommend this place to anybody and if I ever need to come back, definitely will.

Dr Huff, was great during the whole process of the knee replacement! He listened to all my concerns and questions, he explained how everything was going to work. Every question I asked him was exactly what he done. He prepared me for this surgery before he started and told me what I needed to know and do to get ready! Every thing went smoothly from start to finish!

Doctor Huff is a wonderful surgeon with both proficient surgical capabilities and top notch bed side manner. Both of which can be hard to come by in a surgeon. He has operated on multiple family members and recently did a hip scope on me. Results have been positive with some healing still taking place. All that said, be prepared that post surgical follow ups will be with a physicians assistant and not Doctor Huff. You will eventually see him again but just know that at times appointments can feel rushed. Because he is in very high demand and still accepting new patients this is the nature of the business at Bluegrass Orthopedics. I had the worst experience I’ve ever encountered in a medical practice with a particular assistant/admin of his. She will pass the buck at every opportunity and gate keep you from getting what you need. Even if that means your need to return to work. It is so bad that I’ve seriously considered if I ever needed surgery again if it meant having to work with her… again would it be worth Doctor Huff doing the procedure. Every follow up I’m shocked to see she is still employed there. I can’t be the only one and I can only imagine how she throws her weight around in that office. For that reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of the 5 I think he himself appropriately deserves. Beware that Bluegrass does feel like a cattle call which I’ve found to be somewhat common in Lexington Kentucky with various providers I’ve encountered. More broadly speaking medical care is starting to feel it places profit over patient care more and more.
