Dr. Walter Kobasa, MD

I first met Kobasa when I was 6 weeks pregnant. I came into the ER because I was experiencing spotting and cramping which originated at work. I work in a wearhouse. I lift up to 50lbs on the regular and walk 10 to 15 miles a day, I speed walk to each item to insure a speedy delivery. I squat and stretch, climb ladders and stand on my toes for 10 hours at a time 40 hours a week. It was clear to me that my body was telling me that I needed to rest or I would lose my pregnancy. So in the ER I had an ultrasound showing a perfectly healthy baby with a strong heart. I asked Dr. Kobasa to write me a note suggesting a few weeks off as my job will work with me if it's under Drs orders. Well he laughed and said I have nothing to worry about and sent me with a note saying I could go back to work that night! So I continued working and continued having horrible cramps. My baby somehow made it to 8 weeks but on the 9th week I started bleeding heavily. By this point I had finally found a Dr. But… unfortunately it was the weekend and she was not available. So back to the ER I go. There I tell him I think I'm losing my pregnancy and I feel like it's due to the emotional and physical stress of my high pace job. He laughed and said "oh no that isn't it" sends me to ultrasound discovers my baby is dead and then proceeds to tell me with a smirk on his face! Then he gives me my options and tells me he's going to send me back to work that Monday! It was Saturday when this happened. I took cytotec. I was having extreme cramping well into Tuesday. I called HR and thankfully they worked with me. But this man is a monster and a clown and should not work with women! He is rude, he interrupts and speaks over women, he makes inappropriate jokes and poor decisions that may have cost me my child. Yes I can become pregnant again, but nothing will ever replace the child I lost. I will always wonder what would have happened if I were able to stay home from work after that first visit with Walter Kobasa "MD"
