Misdiagnosed my son and also had several errors in the report. Did not care about the accuracy of his report. Not enjoyable to work with and didn't make any attempt to establish rapport with my child. Waste of money, and honestly, not a nice person to work with.

Not patient or kind. The report took weeks to arrive and had very obvious errors like which dominant hand my child uses. Miss quoted me and my husband and the teachers. Very odd and unprofessional.

He understands the complex issues facing teenagers with challenges. He is adept at grasping the possibilities of multifactorial issues at play. His intuition is excellent. Dr. Newsom's broad range of experience really showed when we asked him to assess our father. Our father is an accomplished engineer who recently retired after a long successful career. He also had high functioning Autism, so when he started to show some signs of memory loss, we really weren't sure whether he was developing dementia or if this was just the normal course of his Autism. Dr. Newsom did a complete assessment and due to his experience with both dementia and Autism, Dr. Newsom was able to provide an assessment that turned out to be accurate and helpful. His neurologist was impressed and after some brain scans and a neurological workup, it turned out that the neurologist's diagnosis was exactly what Dr. Newsom had given him. The best thing was that he treated our father with such respect throughout the evaluation process. Dr. Newsom listened to our dad tell the same stories about his life at least five times and each time acted as if it was the first. Dad left Dr. Newsom's… office feeling like he had made a new friend.

We came to to Dr. Newsom to give my son a full assessment due to some of the on going challenges he was having after high school. He connected great with my son and wasn’t stuffy, like some Doctors can be. He provided more than the usual tests, like IQ. He went deeper into helping my son and our family understand how to better help him, recognizing his anxiety. Even helping us understand aspects of his personality separate from the ADHD. He did follow up tests and split the test up due to my son needing extra time too. His summary and disclosure meeting was direct and thoughtful, which is what we needed.

Dr. Newsom really helped me get my treatment on the right path. I had been misdiagnosed as a child and it never felt right. I finally had the resources to get re-evaluated as an adult and I am so glad I found Dr. Newsom! He was so kind and welcoming throughout the whole process. The testing I received was thorough and he got the report back to me ASAP. I left Dr. Newsom's office with a new diagnosis (that fits!) and a new outlook on my treatment journey. Would absolutely recommend Dr. Newsom anyone!

Dr. Newsom makes sure that you understand what the results mean, and how to use them for the client’s benefit.

Dr. Newsom takes the time to explain difficult and complex issues in the post-testing results debriefing.

We have had three of our children evaluated by Dr. Newsom. His reports have been really helpful with each one. He spent nearly two hours with us as we asked questions about the last assessment and we never felt like we were imposing. Most mental health types seem to want to rush us out of the office but he isn’t like that.
