Dr. Walter Charle Peppelman JR., DO

I recently was asked to go to Dr, Walter C Peppelman office for a independent report for my insurance and realized he is biased to give insurance a reason not to cover me. I have two of York's best back surgeon's Dr. Winer and Dr. Furman doing MRI'S and other important tests and both agree I needed ongoing help and physical therapy. Dr, Peppleman on the other hand finds a way to just say you reached your maximum recovery so insurance does not want to pay. He is a disgrace to his profession as far as I am concerned. He made no real effort to look into my back pain. I guarantee you that if I went to his office first for services he would have found a way to keep my insurance paying for his services.

My sciatic nerve was pressed against my disc. Walked sideways for 2 years. Did everything to release pain. After back surgery from Dr. Walter Peppelman I could walk straight. NO PAIN. He is a wonderful surgeon. I would give him 10 stars if I could. If I have anymore problems with my back he is the only doctor I TRUST. HE IS THE BEST. Just a note I am writing this review 11 months after my surgery! I wanted to give osteopathic hospital 5 stars for my recovery. The nurses are fantastic!!!

We found Dr Peppelman to be super honest, impressive, professional and he gave us Hope after a very tumultuous spinal journey.

I have been a patient of Dr. Peppelman for several years and have had 2 spinal fusions during that time. As long as everything is going his way, he is fine. On the other hand, if surgery was not successful, and mine was not, be prepared for what feels like an assault. His entire demeanor changes and he becomes indifferent and rude. Ready to write you off in a second and has nothing to offer, not even advice. For this, I wait 40 minutes in an exam room, NOT the waiting room, while realizing I hear several people stating they have appointments at the same time. After each exam room visit, he immediately dictates notes, then goes to the next one. All that so that I could be treated with disrespect and made to feel like I am wasting his time and nothing I have to say is even acknowledged or questioned. NOT EVEN an exam. Never even looked at my back. I could have had a bone protruding from my back and he would not even know it. Be prepared for whatever mood he made be in,… because you could leave in tears like I did.

I had suffered with extreme back pain for years, went to two previous doctors who told me nothing could be done for my back. I waited seven years with suffering before trying again, I was sent to Dr. Pepplemen, he advised surgery which I had. Took a little time for the healing but I don't regret it at all. Dr, Peppelmen was very understanding, respectful and honest with me and I'm thankful for him, back pain eventually went away. I trust him completely.

Dr. Peppelman is extremely knowledgeable and is also very kind and compassionate. His knowledge of cervical surgery is outstanding. I would refer all my family and friends to him. His staff is also exceptional.

Misdiagnosed!! Further testing should have been encouraged with the explanation of additional symptoms I provided prior to and following spinal surgery. The Dr. scoffed, basically making me feel as though I was insane while sobbing in his office explaining the symptoms I continued to experience. I've often wanted to make an appointment just to let him know how wrong he was and enlighten him on what was missed! Ohh... only Multiple Sclerosis which is a disease that will ALSO show prominent white scarring on your spine ... no big deal right? Not to say the surgery performed wasn't needed, although, as a medical Professional (?) a recommendation would have been appreciated. But at that point his bill was paid, it made no difference to him.

5 spinal surgeries. Excellent results. Brilliant in his field.

My 75 y/o father has suffered all of his life with chronic back issues. He has had surgeries in the past. Our experience w Dr Peppleman has been the best by far. His bedside manner was professional both before & after the surgery. He took the time to fully explain each step in the process. The recovery from this surgery was much faster than any previous surgery. We will return to this doctor. And yes, we are fully aware of his pleading guilty to DUI & other charges earlier this year.
