Dr. Wanda Althea Wilburn, MD

Told her my mom had bronchitis. My 1 year old son was super sick. She was at an urgent care in riverside. Instead of listening to me and preventing a situation. We are now at the ER because he can’t breathe. Thank you for that!! We will be looking into further action.

She was at a Rancho Cucamonga urgent care facility. Took my son with special needs due to ear infection. When he did not want to have his ears check he tried to block and grab her to stop. She took his hands and forced them down, screamed on his face causing to make him more upset. Then she asked if he was normal. Very upsetting. She was made aware of his condition.

I had a horrible experience with this doctor and do not recommend her at all. This doctor recommended pelvic support surgery after my hysterectomy, wrote down the name and address of the surgeon she was referring me to then said she was faxing my family doctor the info for the referral. I called 7 times over the span of 8 weeks and followed up with my doctor constantly. The referral was never sent despite being repeatedly told by her receptionist that it was. I finally spoke to the doctor and she claimed to have no record of my appointment - despite my insurance being billed! - and became extremely hostile, rude and unprofessional on the phone with me. I was floored! Mistakes happen but the way this doctor choose to address it was incredible. Choose another doctor. What a horrible experience! I should have done my research and read the reviews first.

She may have saved my life.

Never go to this "doctor"... Had the worst experience with her...

I love Dr.Willburn she deliver all three of my bundles of joy. 2007,2008 & 2015 MayGod continue to bless her.

Dr. Wilburn was unfortunately the only female ob in the high desert. This doctor took care of my first pregnancy and it was an awful experience. I would not recommend her to anyone.

For any woman or anyone who knows a lady living in the Victorville/Apple Valley, CA area, please do not assign Dr. Wanda Wilburn as your OB/GYN. She is the most incompetent, patronizing excuse for a medical practitioner I have ever had the misfortune to meet. She abandons pregnant women over 30 weeks of gestation if you have the slightest issue (like difficulty breathing, um, what pregnant woman doesn't have difficulty breathing, especially as the baby or babies get bigger) just to cover herself from liability issues. She is condescending and rude. She my 7 year old daughter cry. She will make you wait in her waiting room for hours and then she just wont show up to the office and you have to reschedule when they have an opening next, even if you are high risk or carrying multiples and even though it is her fault that you could not have your appointment in the first place. Office staff are incompetent too. She will not perform her own ultrasounds. You have to make 2 appointments every… week, one to see Dr. Wanda Whackjob and one to see the ultrasound tech. I could go on and on.

I'm LIVID with this office. They incorrectly submitted a routine pap to a lab that doesn't accept my insurance. I received a bill from the lab over one year later. When I contacted Dr. Wilburn, her office said that they would take care of it. Five months later, I received a collections notice for the lab-work. She and her office kept giving me the run around and finally, today (just two months after my collections notice) told me I had to take care of it on my own. This is a routine pap smear covered by my insurance. Because of their negligence, my credit and my wallet took a hit. I am leaving their office after 4-5 years of being a patient. Any doctor who says "they will take care of it" but lets their patient sit in collections due to their office's negligence will no longer be a doctor of mine. Also, there is some decent staff in there, but it's hit and miss. Vanessa was the kindest and helpful of all. I hope her good energy will turn that office around because no… patient should EVER be treated like I have been.

If I could leave zero stars I would. My very first visit to this clinic was pleasant despite a three hour wait in that I really enjoyed meeting Dr. Wilburn and my exam was very comfortable. She seemed genuine, compassionate and she explained her findings in a professional manner. I went to this clinic because I am trying to start my family but something seemed "off". On my pelvic exam a fibroid was felt by the doctor and I was referred to St. Mary's to get an ultrasound done the very next week so we could determine if surgery was an option for me. This is where my positive experience with Genesis ended. I was told by the ultrasound technician at St. Mary's that my results would be sent to my physician within 2-3 days. Well, 2-3 days passed, then a week, and no word from Dr. Wilburn's office. I called in to see if my results had been received and her assistant stated that they had the results but Dr. Wilburn had been on vacation for a week so she hadn't had a chance to review… them. The assistant told me that I should expect to hear back from Dr. Wilburn by the end of the day or that Thursday at the latest (I called on a Tuesday). Thursday came and went, then another week went by... My second call to Genesis to get my results was just as frustrating - the excuse this time was that Dr. Wilburn had been on call all week and still had not gotten a chance to review it. Her assistant offered to make me an appointment the next week to get my results. I told her that I did not want to have to wait yet another week before I knew what the next steps I needed to take were. I am in the medical field and although I know this is not allowed, I let it happen...the assistant then proceeded to read me my ultrasound result OVER THE PHONE!! She is not medically trained and should not be giving medical results over the phone. Atleast now though I knew what my results were and that they were recommending further testing. The assistant still made me an appointment for the next week to have Dr. Wilburn talk to me about the results and before hanging up the phone she asked me not to mention to the doctor that she had discussed my results already - so unprofessional. A week later I came in to get my results, I made it clear to her staff that I was there not for an exam but just to discuss my results with the doctor. Dr. Wilburn still insisted that I was checked in and my vitals were taken so that she could benefit from charging my insurance company another office visit fee - talk about holding something for ransom. Dr. Wilburn caught wind of my being upset about being charged another office visit and proceeded to talk badly about me (I could hear her in the hallway from the exam room) then came into the exam room, read the ultrasound report, and because of her changed attitude towards me my once hopeful prognosis for being able to have children despite my fibroid changed to a very dismal and insensitive prognosis. Dr. Wilburn also made it obvious to me that she hadn't reviewed my medical record from the previous visit because she forgot that I myself am a doctor in the way she was talking down to me about how ultrasounds work and that she had already gone over what fibroids were and how they can interfere with having children. She proceeded to be offensive comparing to my line of work as being less important than hers and that she is worth the $200 an hour which is why she has clients come in rather than going over anything on the phone. I spend hours on the phone with my clients on a daily basis and don't let a day go by after receiving results before I contact them so they don't have to worry. Overall an extremely unprofessional and frustrating experience. I will not be going back to this clinic and I urge anyone who cares about their body and doing what's best for themselves and their family to stay away. It's disgusting what kind of unethical, rude, dispassionate individuals choose to dedicate their lives to the medical field and how many people suffer as a result.
