Dr. Wasiq Ali Zaidi, MD

I have seen Dr. Zaidi and his staff for several years. I don’t understand all the negative reviews. Please read the reviews carefully and with an open mind that psychiatry is a very delicate field to navigate because of all the different backgrounds, traumas, and mental illness that patients come to see a psychiatrist for. It’s not a one size fits all. My recommendation to people who are seeking psychiatric care for mental health or addiction is to remember that these are people who can’t read your mind. To get the best care, be honest in how you’re feeling and about your situation. Dr. Zaidi and his PA’s are extremely supportive and knowledgeable in psychiatric medical management. They don’t have a “magic pill” that will fix all your problems. But they definitely can help you on your medical journey. If you are honest, work with your care team, counselors, ensure that you are compliant on taking your medication, your path to healing can start. My experience with Tri City… Psychiatry has been over the top exceptional. I truly feel that Dr. Zaidi, his PA’s, and staff “DO” care for each patient they see and they genuinely want to see their patients progress to living a healthy lifestyle. I have never experienced a doctor before Dr. Zaidi and his team that demonstrated above and beyond care the way his office does. Dr. Zaidi and his team worked with me as I navigated through my mental health situation. It was trial and error with some medicines, but patience and the desire to truly get better and not self sabotage my life anymore was when I saw the real healing begin. Life that once felt not worth living, turned into just a bad days, a bad day turned into an okay day, and now, an okay day is now one I can now see the sun through the clouds and feel like I can smile and enjoy what life brings. I attribute a lot to Dr. Zaidi and his staff sticking with me and never giving up on me as a lost cause. They see the hope in us that we sometimes don’t see in ourselves. His office not only treat you but cheer you on as you progress. Outside of medical management, I had an insurance debacle and not only did the staff and I work in harmony many hours to sort through the issues, Dr. Zaidi, himself, put in time to assist in getting insurance approval for necessary treatment for me. What doctor does this? He does, because he cares and wants to see his patients well. If you seek true psychiatric medical management you will receive very good care with Tri City Psychiatry.

Excellence in Care

I would give a 0 if I could. The receptionist was the rudest I have had in 65 years. I think she must be a relative to get away with this behavior. People with emotional and mental issues should NEVER BE TREATED WITH SUCH DISRESPECT.

My teen was an established patient with Dr. Zaidi for almost a year but recently scheduled a visit because bipolar meds were not working as expected. Unfortunately, Dr. Zaidi's callous treatment at this visit turned a mental health concern into a crisis and undid months of progress in talk therapy. His idea of treatment was to say he only had 10 minutes, did not have time to hear what the issue was, he was not going to make any medication changes (he had only prescribed the one) and suggested my 17 year old see a child psychiatrist and then sent her on her way with a 30 day supply of the very medicine that was the issue. Save your time, money and potentially your life and if you or a loved one has a mental health issue seek out a psychiatrist who actually cares about the patient. That is NOT Dr. Zaidi!

Without fail, his office requires payment before the appointment, they overbill, and will not refund or credit for the overbilling. You cannot contact the billing office and even with documented proof, they do not issue refunds.

Dr. Zaidi does not accept Medicare or Medicaid, so cash was paid for each 13 office visits. When I asked the doctors clerical personnel to file these claims, they stated that they did not do this. I was told this repeatedly. Finally, after 6 months of office visits, I started inquiring again only to be told the same thing. I filed the claims Medicare myself, only to get a letter stating that by law, even if the doctor does not accept Medicare, they must file the claim. They filed the claims, but was unable to get paid for four office visits totaling $700 because of the deadline. Even though my daughter paid the doctor cash up front, the claims that were filed, indicated the reimbursement should go to the doctor, and I have not receive reimbursement yet. Please learn the law regarding getting reimbursed when paying this doctor upfront.

I needed help for a long time. It was hard to come to terms with my depression, but I am glad I went to Dr Zaidi. I feel like myself again. Thank you

Not easy to talk to about sensitive issues. Condescending and is easily angered by negative comments about my mental health concerns that I brought to his attention AFTER asking if I could speak candidly. Hard to communicate effectively. Never felt like he was engaged or cared about my overall mental health. Why is he in this profession I will never know!

my employer requested for certain questions to be answered. I had to continuously follow up with them to ensure that the documents faxed over here answered in a decent amount of time. I felt that during the check up process that it was rushed. I did not feel comfortable and was done it no time. I felt that it wasn't about us at the patient but more or less to get as many patience in and out as possible.

The office staff is quite rude, he likes to put you on drugs that form severe chemical dependencies, and my favorite, me, "the sleep aid you are giving me is giving me the worst nightmares, and I didn't even dream before, my sleep has become even worse, also, the depakote, if I even miss it by a few hours, I'm sicker than a dog, can we please try something else, these are the fist things we've tried, and from my understanding, there are numerous medications we can try, may we please try something else." Zaidi, "that's all I can prescribe you, it's all I will prescribe you, continue taking your medication as directed, also, I need you to hurry up and get your blood drawn." Me, "Ok seriously, I can't afford it, it's like $200 dollars for your tests, and I can barely afford to see you, also, I'm deathly afraid of needles, please give me something where I don't have to get my blood drawn, I'm begging you." Zaidi, "here are you prescriptions, have a nice day michael, I'll see you next… month?" So, no joke, true story, that was the last time I eve went to see him, MHMR has had multiple complaints about him, do not see this man. He also refuses to pick up the phone to my therapist, I sat with my therapist the day before while he called, left him a voicemail, and also e-mailed him, my appointment with D. Zaidi the next day, he denied receiving any phone calls, or e-mails. I'm done being nice, he's a piece of crap.
