Dr. Waymon Edward Lewis, MD

Dr. Lewis is confident in his skills and i believe he is definitely knowledgeable. He is likely capable, but that was not my experience. I had Lapiplasty bunion corrective surgery and hammertoe correction. Almost a year later i still had swelling, pain, and the hammertoe was in worse shape than when we began. His best recommendation was to just get used to it and see how it goes. During treatment he also seemed to forget from one appointment to the next what he said he wanted to do. I wanted physical therapy early but finally started physical therapy 3 months post surgery…which was counter-productive. I don't recommend him as a surgeon. I had an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon in Fort Worth correct the issues. So two surgeries on one foot. The second one had to happen so that I could walk properly and without pain. The delay in physical therapy from the first surgery also caused the Achilles tendon to seize up. The second surgeon had to extend that too. I had more physical therapy,… but this time everything was successful. My foot is hideously scarred, my toes don’t work like they should now, and there will always be pain where he turned the bone, but I can walk distances, climb stairs, and not swell up by end of the work day now because of the second surgeon. Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion and do your research.

I saw Dr.Lewis for bunion and Hammer toe surgery in August 2022, I had problems and concerns post operative, that was discussed with Dr Lewis. He just blew it off. I also made calls to the office post operative and Mindy took it upon herself not to relay urgent medical concerns to Dr Lewis. Dr Lewis negligence caused me to have a tendon rupture. Which led to another surgery, and his professional medical advice concerning the tendon repair also cause me to need an additional to fix the toes again. Imaging shows that Dr Lewis place the hardware plate on top of a nerve, which caused nerve Damage, and the screw he placed stuck out to where the tendon rubbed until it ruptured, Dr Lewis’s negligence caused me to have 2 additional surgeries, additional medical costs. Lots of pain and suffering. The staff is unreliable and not very knowledgeable. PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING TO DR. LEWIS. you will be better off!

Very caring podiatrist! I have worked with podiatrist and Dr. Lewis is tops! Very honest . I highly recommend this podiatrist to anyone with foot or ankle issues. He is very good in his field. B. Wilson

Great bunch of people. He listens to you. Discusses the plan of care with you and answers any questions. He is not in a hurry to just cut on you. He wants you to have the course of treatment. I received stem cell treatments, which worked very well. Will go back if needed. Worth the drive to Weatherford.
