Dr. Wayne Russell Bonlie, MD

Dr. Bonlie has been a great help to me in helping me get off 3 of my high blood pressure meds. Moreover, I have lost 20 lbs since seeing him and following Dr. Esselstyn's food plans. He has humility which is a rare commodity in most md's.

I started seeing Dr. Bonlie in 2013 after about 15 years of chronic joint pain, vision problems, extreme fatigue, and brain fog. I had seen almost 20 different doctors during that time and received diagnoses ranging from arthritis to carpel tunnel syndrome to fibromyalgia. While other doctors wrote me off, Dr. Bonlie took the time to really listen to my symptoms. He also correctly diagnosed me with Lyme disease. I have been seeing Dr. Bonlie ever since for a variety of different medical issues. Not only is he kind and extremely intelligent, but he keeps up with the latest research. He often will discuss the results of recent medical studies in the context of determining an appropriate treatment plan. I have never been to another doctor who does that. He is wonderful and has made such a difference to my quality of life.

Dr. Bonlie is the best doctor I know. I call him my Dr. Oz. He is patient, understanding, caring, smart and not narrow-minded like many of the doctors I've seen. In 2009, I got really really sick. I had no idea what was wrong with me. I went to see Dr. Bonlie because I thought my problem had something to do with my fibromyalgia but I was toxic. My hair was falling out, I was losing a lot of weight because when I ate anything I would get dizzy. Whenever I would go outside I would get really sick. Sometimes I would call Dr. Bonlie because I was feeling so bad and just cry on the phone. I felt so bad for him because he was trying to find ways to console me. By the way, I live in Norfolk, VA so when I wasn't able to go see Dr. Bonlie, I would do a phone appointment. Dr. Bonlie worked with me and has been my doctor every since then. He is open to trying new things as long as he feels it won't be of harm to you. That's what makes him so unique. He knows about test most… doctor's wouldn't even think of looking into and the fact that he will treat you the natural way before he would prescribe prescription medicine is definitely a plus. No I am not a relative of Dr. Bonlie, I'm just a patient of his who wants to applaud the good, kind, caring doctor he is.

I have sufferred with chronic tick borne illnesses for years. However, I was misdiagnosed for years, dismissed by many medical providers, and made to feel crazy. Fortunately, through word of mouth was referred to Dr. Bonlie. He did thorough health assessment and lab work. The root cause of my debilitating symptoms was diagnosed. He listens, cares, and understands. It is wonderful to have a doctor who I trust and feel comfortable expressing myself. He answers emails and is very accessible.

I went to him thinking I had a thyroid issue. Turns out I have another issue that several other doctors failed to diagnose for many years. Thanks to dr Bonlie knowing the best test to do, as well as LISTENING and not brushing me off or telling me I need a psychiatrist...I finally got an answer.

Dr. Bonlie is the best doc I have had since my childhood. He takes all the time you need with you, he refills scrips promptly, answers emails the same day in most cases, and generally cares for his patients homeopathically or medicinally as needed. My husband is moving to him now, for the same reasons.

Dr. Bonlie is a very thorough investigator. He really listens, as anything you tell him is another clue to what may be going on. Very kind. He makes you feel at ease and doesn't make you feel like you're crazy. Familiar with the latest tests for thyroid that other drs won't do.

I cannot express how much he changed my life. He was the only one who really listen to my concerns and made the appropriate adjustments to my thyroid medications. Now I can live a full life and enjoy every day. He's the best!
