Dr. Wayne Anthony Colizza, MD

I was accused of coming late for surgery. Dr Colizza was running ahead of schedule and no one came out to the waiting room to bring me to post-op. We were there an hour ahead of schedule. I was early but waited about an hour to be called in for preparations. The negative energy was very disconcerting . I was traumatized and almost disconnected IV to leave. They only allowed my wife in for a few seconds because we were told that Dr. Colizza was running ahead of schedule. He never saw my wife after surgery and never visited me while in the hospital for four days. A year and a half later I still have swelling and pain. Being traumatized before surgery certainly didn’t help the outcome.

My son just saw Dr. Colizza in Cedar Knolls of Tri-County Orthopedics and was very happy with him. My son had thought (prior diagnosis) that he had bursitis in his knees. Bad enough to quit sports altogether his sophomore year in high school because of the pain. He saw Dr. Colizza (recommended by a family member who works in the medical field) and my son’s first visit Dr. Colizza found that my son had tendonitis, patellar maltracking and inflammation. After an mri showed he also had a slight radial meniscus tear, he simply wrote a prescription for PT for four weeks and then a follow up with him... It’s nothing tragic, what’s going on with my son’s knees, however I feel Dr. Colizza diagnosed my son properly after a sports medicine doctor had misdiagnosed him. His knees are feeling better (the first time in four years) and he’s happy, implementing the exercises he learned at PT at home. Dr. says in the future if he feels pain from the tear (which he is not now) then maybe surgery to… repair the tear would be beneficial. But we will cross that bridge if and when we ever get to it.

My hip replacement surgery couldn't have gone better. Back on my feet and full speed 2 months later. He and his staff did a great job.

Dr. Wayne Colizza and his staff and associates are our Family Orthopedic Doctor. Tri-County Orthopedics is just the best place to go for Orthopedic issue. Dr. Colizza fixed our daughters meniscus from a sport injury and got her back in the sport quickly… same for our son’s bad ankle sprain.. Dr. Colizza worked with him and got him playing again. Amazing Doctor and staff. Richard Wong his PA is terrific.

Dr. Colizza has been my orthopedic surgeon for about 25 years. He has performed numerous surgeries on my knees leading up to both knees having been replaced and most recently a hip replacement. The quality of care given by Dr. Colizza and his PA, Rich Wong, have been exceptional over the years. Their compassion and expertise is second to none! Being a self-employed roofing contractor and an avid sports enthusiast, I was able to rely on Dr. Colizza to get me back up and on the roof in a short period of time. He allowed me to continue with my quality of life after each procedure. His level of skill and knowledge has kept current with the most recent advances in orthopedic procedures, equipment, and care. I highly recommend Dr. Colizza and his team to anyone seeking high quality care!

I am 53 years old. I had a hip-resurface operation (Birmingham Procedure) on my right hip on May 2nd, 2017. Dr Colizza performed the operation at Morristown Medical Center. The operation was a huge success and the care in the hospital was top notch! I just completed my 6 month visit and received a clean bill of health. I am completely unrestricted in terms of the activities in which I can participate. I can to Dr Colizza with approximate 5-10% range of motion in my right hip. I now have 90-95% range of motion after the operation. The Birmingham Procedure is a great alternative to a hip replacement for younger people. I will say that I need to limit the degree/length of my participation in certain activities so as not to cause inflammation. So there isn't anything that I can't do, I just need to control the amount of activity.

I have been going to Dr. Colizza for years. Most recently for my knee. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. He is most caring and understanding and does everything he can to make sure you understand everything and are comfortable with him. I would and have told everyone about him and how great he was.

Dr. Colizza is an amazing surgeon! He has repaired both of my torn rotator cuffs and biceps tears successfully and with minimal pain. Not only is he the best, he is personable, warm and explains every step of the operation. I highly recommend both Dr. Colizza and his assistant, Rich Wong. I have had many surgeons over the years, and Dr. Colizza by far the best!!

Dr.Colizza is a very caring, competent doctor who took care of me for two different injuries. He is very accessible and always takes the time to answer my questions. He is a great orthopedic surgeon.

Fantastic Dr. He eliminated my chronic pain in my hip rom a shattered femur 12 years ago by replacing my hip. He even made my legs the same length again. Great personality to boot!!!
