I appreciated the opportunity to establish care; however, I left the appointment feeling somewhat dismissed in my efforts to take a proactive/preventive approach toward my neurological health. When I attempted to discuss my family history and broader health concerns, I felt the conversation was narrowed very quickly without much collaborative discussion or exploration. While I understand that not every concern necessarily points to a neurological condition, I was hoping for a more engaged conversation around risk factors, preventative health, and whether any baseline evaluation or monitoring would be appropriate. I also felt that some of my questions and concerns were met with a level of disinterest rather than curiosity or guidance, which made the experience feel discouraging as a patient trying to be proactive about long-term health. PLEASE NOTE: The young lady (the RN or MA) that roomed me, was extremely kind, professional, attentive, and compassionate.
