Dr. Wesley Raymond Hodgson, MD

Dismissed early labor and gave me muscle relaxers....which I didn't take.

This is my 6th pregnancy, one miscarriage and 4 full term healthy natural births. My originally doctor is about 1.5 hours away and now retired unfortunately so we had to choose a new doctor and decided to stay local this time. Dr. Hodgson is patient, he is thorough and to be honest I'm confident he will be a fine doctor during delivery. I researched four total and my main concern is having a patient confident doctor and he seems just that. The downfall comes with the staff and their ability to properly represent the two doctors in the office. Most times when you call you go directly into a automated generic voicemail for a return phone call which comes off unproffessional and when you are called back they aren't able to provide you with answers and need to call you back again - for new patient's this could be a turn off as I personally wouldn't have hung in there if it weren't for a very strong referral. I have sat in the office each time never hearing the phone ring, once for 3… hours I was there for testing with no ring proving that it is set to go directly to voicemail, but with three staffers in at the desk there is no excuse not to answer phone calls throughout the day. I even brought this up to a staffer and was told they are understaffed, not something I wanted to hear. I came from an office with 15 doctors in which it ran like a fine oiled machine. The nurses were always super friendly, outgoing and it was effortless for them to hold conversations. They have a great gal from Lab Corp that does a wonderful job with blood draw as she's drawn my blood like 7 times, then a larger framed woman drew it The last time and was probably The roughest blood draw I've ever had as she was a bit aggressive. It's unfortunate the staff at the office takes away from the talent and professionalism Dr.Hodgson strives to bring to his patient's. I don't know if this is a private practice or a practice managed by Fauquier Health so it's hard to tell where the issue lies and could be corrected, I feel there must be a great staff behind every great doctor for long term success.

I've been through tons of OB/GYNs. I've had 8 kids and he was the only one I ever felt comfortable with. Great doctor!!

A great doctor and a wonderful bedside manner. Highly recommended.

More knowledge needed!

Dr. Hodgson is an amazing physician. He's kind, patient, and very knowledgeable. When I was pregnant with my first child, he answered all of my questions and helped me feel totally at ease. I can't say enough nice things about him or his office. I highly recommend this physician.
