Dr William Grant Applegarth

I brought my father who is 89 years old and has dementia, to an appointment where we thought he was going to get his cancer removed off his ear. He already had the biopsy and had cancelled before, which I explained to the nurse why we cancelled because I thought he might have been having issues with the doctors because of his dementia. So, they were going to re-schedule to get it removed to begin with. When we got there, the doctor said he just wanted to see what medications he was on. So, I said we were under the impression that he was getting it removed that day. He just had us come in to tell him what medications he was on. Why couldn't they do that over the phone? So, my dad was saying oh we have to wait ten more days? Then he said I want it to get removed now and the Dr. yelled at him and said "I don't care what you want!" I said to him that my father has dementia, so could you be more sensitive? Then he proceeded to say, this is on you, you cancelled before and I don't know what… my schedule is for surgery and on and on. He said he is on low dose aspirin so we would have to get him off of that for 10 days, but if the other Doctor says he can't be off of it, then we can do it anyways. He was on blood thinners when they did the biopsy so? At that point, I was so mad, I told him we would go somewhere else and he said, I think that is a good idea. I said, "so do I." As I walked out with my dad, I told him he was very insensitive and he told me to go to ____. Very unprofessional and sarcastic. Also, I know it is possible to get surgeries when you are on blood thinners, because his hernia doctor said they could do it. If I could choose zero stars, I would.

Very rude and unprofessional! He apparently did not have knowledge of the condition I was having. Wouldn’t listen, then spoke rude and sarcastically to me. And when I spoke back in the same exact manor, it became worse ! What a jerk - considering making a legal complaint!

I saw this dermatologist for four months for treatment of my wart, and my practitioner reported that the wart was gone several times. Each time it was apparent to me under zero magnification that the wart remained. I have not gone back for several months as the wart unsurprising still remained when I looked the next day. Also be warned, they're billing is horrible I have had to pay them three times for the same appointments. And they sent me another bill today. Keep in mind that I paid the full bill they sent me after I ensured that I recieved them all. So if you're looking for subpar service, and bills that never stop coming with multiple problems with your insurance, Applegarth dermatology is the dermatologist for you!

I have been a patient of Dr. Applegarth for a number of years and have received the utmost care. His expertise is second to none. He is excellent in the field of dermatology. I truly admire his ability to zero in on the diagnosis and take care of it in a professional manner. His staff is equally competent.

Love Dr. Tom! I am fairly new patient to Dr. Tom and just adore him. He has great communication skills as well as people skills. My condtion has improved drastically.

Dr Applegarth and staff were able to treat me when no one else could. I would recommend his services to anyone who asks or mentions they need help with skin issues. The staff is great!

Unprofessional staff and establishment!!!!

Office manager Chris is a joke! She will yell from her office at patients who are standing at front desk.. She has also sent patients to collections over 28 cents. Applegarth is condescending. I witnessed him yell at employee over not changing a light bulb. He makes well over a 6 figure salary & can't even hire a handyman to change the lightbulbs... Pathetic!! His poor staff also clean the offices. The staff gossips in front of the patients especially the head MA redhead. Very unprofessional. But what else do you expect from a staff who were hired by Bill himself & the office manager Chris. They feed off the drama & I wouldn't suggest anyone becoming a patient there.

Three years ago I needed to see a dermatologist. I chose one that was in my insurance network at the time. I do not believe it was Dr. Applegarth himself, maybe a partner in the practice. Prior to the appointment, the office sent out patient forms which I filled out and brought with me. The form asked me for my Social Security number. I did not fill that in. That is NOT a requirement and you can refuse to divulge this. While standing at the reception desk, I was told it was a policy of the doctor's to have that information or I would not be seen. I explained that I had very good insurance and that should be enough. I further explained how our insurance information was "hacked" by the Anthem breach and I did not want to give out any more information that would make it easier for an unscrupulous person to get credit in our names. They stated I could then pay cash, up front that day, in order to be seen! "Why?", I asked when I have insurance. "It is doctor's policy." I drove… a good distance to get to the appointment and stated that no one has ever denied me seeing the doctors when I did not supply my SS number. (Maybe if they could have proven to me that they had an extreme security system on their medical records computer program that I MIGHT have been receptive.) I explained I would really like the doctor to see me, as I was a bit worried about my skin condition. They were having none of that! I left, very miffed about my ordeal. Three years have gone by since then. I never had the skin condition dealt with. My husband needed a dermatologist and made an appointment with the doctor's office, not realizing it was with this same doctor's office. He did not supply his SS number and it was not an issue! So, when I called the offices to see if I could get in to see Dr. Applegarth, I was told that I was banned from the practice, that I came in DEMANDING the doctor take care of me back then and that was that! So, I said to them, "Oh my gosh--you were that office?" Oh, forget it! My husband called them back to cancel a future appointment and said he would not be coming back. So, if you are looking for caring, concerned people to take care of you, our advice is to look elsewhere!

when I made my appointment to see Dr. Applegarth, I was not told I would be seeing an assistant. The assistant did freeze a spot on my arm but it did not work. I told them they should not bill insurance because it did not work, I was given the runaround. I also was told when a procedure is done by an assistant the Dr. only has to be within the next county. What is something goes wrong, Dr. did not even review what was done to my arm???
