Extremely caring doctor, talks to you, gets to know you personally, and I am so thankful I found him! He reminds me of the doctor I had back in Dallas- attentive and listens to your needs. If it was not for him and Cathleen, I would still be struggling with my back. Thank you, Dr. Berkley for all you do for me, my family, and your patients. I send everyone I know to him- he is great. My family is cared for by Dr. Berkley’s Physicians Assistant, Cathleen Villela. Cathleen has been vital in my families health! She is compassionate and a careful listener. I had a refill of 180 days of medication (90 days of 20 mg capsules and 90 days of 10 mg capsules, taken alternating days) that was prescribed by Dr. Berkeley’s PA and I wanted to wean off of the medication. Tablets are easier to split, but the 20 mg tablets are $216 and the 10 mg tablets are only $10. So I wanted the entire 180 day supply switched to 10 mg tablets for easier tapering. Dr Berkeley would only prescribe 120 of the 10 mg tablets and to do 10 mg every day right away. I wanted my entire 180 day pre-approved supply so I could do a MORE CONSERVATIVE taper than he recommended (start by alternating 15 mg and 10 mg every other day). The staff insisted I need to come in so they could help me get off safely....nice try, but that makes no sense when what I’m proposing is more conservative than what the doctor proposes (he obviously has no problem with me coming off the meds if he’s recommending I do it faster than I want). It’s not about my safety - it’s about making me come… in so they can get $. He took away 60 days of meds that were already approved to force me to come in. I have never had a doctor have such an attitude or put up roadblocks when I’m wanting to be more conservative than he/she suggests. Poor communication, refused to call me personally when messages kept getting miscommunicated by MAs. It’s absolutely unethical for him to take away 60 days of meds his PA already approved just because I want to take a smaller dose. Feels like a decision made out of spite or wanting $, not out of being concerned for my safety.

I don’t think it’s ethical to take away a prescription that was already approved because a patient wants less medication. Also, the whole incident was handled very poorly - lots of scrambling of messages, Dr Berkeley refused to call me himself so I could clarify my request. I’ve never had a doctor have such an attitude about me taking a more conservative approach than what he/she suggests.

He is not only knowledgeable about ordinary problems, he also knows about HEART problems!!! And his bedside manner is beyond wonderful! I am in my 4th decade of life, and simply can't believe I have such a caring doctor!

I highly recommend Dr. Berkley and his Premier Care Physicians staff. He is my primary care physician. All of my visits and interfaces are very professional, courteous and timely. I trust Dr. Berkley. He is very personable, easy to talk with, listens and provides excellent patient care.

Most compassionate caring doctor/man I've ever had treat me. I'm 61 yr old female with many ailments . I will never go to another doctor as long as he's practicing and I'm alive. He takes his time and really cares about you as a person, and your problems....And I'm cash/individual pay....I have no insurance.
