Dr. William Michael Carragher, DO

This place is tricky and deceptive. There are two "sides" to the practice: the side that accepts insurance (physical therapy) and the side that does not (Dr. Carragher's services, including age management). On the surface, the staff is friendly and acts like they want to help, but watch out. If you go in for physical therapy, the staff just charges you a co-pay, then has to collect the rest from the insurance company. Those claims always get filed and paid in a timely manner (I checked my claims history online). However, if you see Dr. Carragher, you have to pay 100% of the charges, then file for insurance to get any out-of-network benefit you may be entitled to. I saw the Dr. about 5 times over a period of 5 months, paying over $1,000 in fees. I NEVER GOT ONE PENNY REIMBURSED from my insurance company because the office staff would not file the required paperwork in a timely manner, or at all. I had at least ten e-mails and phone calls with various members of the office… staff, who always breezily promised me that they'd file the paperwork with my insurance company. But, every time I checked with the ins. co. about the status of my claim, they had not received ANY paperwork from Carragher's office. I even connected the ins. co. rep. with the "office manager" at Body Well, but to no avail. The office staff copped a nasty attitude with me and even hung up on the ins. co. rep. while the rep. was trying to straighten out the situation. All in all, I lost about $700 of reimbursement payments to their incompetence. So, be forewarned: once they have your money, they don't care whether you get reimbursed at all. Expect to shoulder 100% of the upfront charges for their services. After battling with this office for almost a year, I gave up on getting any reimbursement. Needless to say, I don't use the Body Well for anything any more.
