Dr. William Anthony Charini, MD

Dr. Charini was in charge of treating my husband at Lawrence General Hospital last fall. we brought him in with pneumonia (past back surgery at brigham and women hospital in boston). my husband was at LGH for 3 1/2 days (from thursday through monday noon) and Dr. Charini was the worst doctor I have ever encountered. he did not give my husband meds he was supposed to get (per B & W surgeon's prescription), did not treat him for low oxigen, treated his inability to hold down food by giving him anti emetic meds rather than looking into why he was throwing up. my husband who went through a very serious back surgery with flying colors was in bed at LGH catatonic saying that he has no energy to open his eyes, was noxious just looking at the menu. when Dr.Charini finally came for visit he was backing out of the room as he was talking to us, the whole visit no more than 5 minutes. I felt that I was watching my husband slowly fade away. On monday morning I arranged to have him taken by… ambulance to B&W. within an hour of his arrival there, with oxigen, liquid diet, discontinuing the antibiotic he was given at LGH and a testosterone blocker prescribed by his oncologist - he was up, alert, smiling. he was back home within 2 days! Dr. Charini should not be allowed to practice as a hospitalist anywhere.
