Dr. William Todd Cockerham, MD

Dr. Cockerham repaired my large paraesophageal hernia. He did everything right so that now after surgery I can breathe well again, enjoy life without pain and nausea attacks, eat normally and look forward to more years of enjoying life. He is kind, considerate, has great knowledge and really cares. Thank you Dr. Todd and God bless you.

Dr. Cockerham did my ventral hernia repair 4 years ago after I had ovarian cancer. I wanted to have a laparoscopic hernia repair. I really did not want to have another open surgery-but after talking to him I knew it would be best. Dr. Cockerham explained to me that an open surgery was less likely to fail based on evidenced based research-I trusted him and I believe he was right. As a nurse I literally interact with dozens of doctors on a daily basis-he is one of the best doctors I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I highly recommend him to any of my patients that need surgery and I would not hesitate to have surgery performed by him if I ever needed it again.

Impressed with options given and the bedside manner through out visit while explaining procedure benefits and risks. Seemed generally concerned about the whole system needing evaluation by extending a referral to another doctor to see first to rule out any possibility of other problems before surgery. He and his staff were unhelpful. When I wrote to him a personal and private letter of request, he showed it to his nurses and office, and I received a call from his nurse saying, "We got your letter. . . " It was offensive. They apparently don't protect privacy, and coupled with not being helpful and making me sit in the waiting room for an hour, I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
