Dr. William Joel Cook, MD

Dr. Cook performed MOHS for a large basal cell carcinoma in very close proximity to my eye and lower eyelid. Dr. Cook was able to achieve clear margins in two stages and was successful in saving my tear duct from any damage. The MOHS surgery left a very large defect and Dr. Cook referred me to Dr. Gene Howard who beautifully reconstructed the area. What a team of skilled surgeons! Dr. Cook’s compassion and caring for his patients is exceptional, always taking the time to explain the procedures and answer questions. The entire staff in Dr. Cook’s office are exceptionally kind and caring. I’m so thankful and highly recommend the truly gifted Dr. Cook!

Very professional and nice office. Staff is very pleasant. Dr Cook was very kind and took the time to explain everything to me and answer any questions I had and put my mind at ease. I would definitely recommend him to others.

He's a great surgeon but does nothing for your pain during or after surgery. He has no sympathy for you either. I'm going to have to find another surgeon. He's just cruel. There are things he can do to prevent the suffering but he doesn't care to take the time. MUSC needs to do something. I would whether see an amateur. I can't take the pain again

This was the third time over several years that I’ve been referred to Dr Cook for Mohs surgery. I am very confident that I received the best care possible and am totally pleased with the level of professionalism and expertise that Dr Cook exhibits. If you want “fluff”, go to a spa. If you want the best surgeon that you could possibly have to take care of the problem, it’s definitely Dr Cook. The nursing staff are professional and all runs like a well oiled machine.

Poor service

I am a patient of Dr. Cook for just over a year. I travel almost a total of 4 hours round trip depending on traffic etc. but in order to find the best MOHS surgeon in the South, it’s worth it. He is an excellent surgeon and his staff are the greatest bunch of caring people under one roof! Dr. Cook has such skill and my outcome with basal and squamous cell cancer removal and reconstruction has been miraculous.... it pays to do your research... don’t let miles come between going to the best or making it convenient ... Dr. Cook is worth it. You rock Doc!
