Dr. William Tallman Felmly, MD

I saw Dr. Felmly for a Worker's Comp claim and not only did he inform my employer of a health related condition that had absolutely NOTHING to do with my back condition he had the audacity to state that my back injury claim was colorful (meaning that I was lying) even though my X-rays and MRI clearly showed that there was indeed a problem with my lower back. I called the Medical Board to complain about his behavior of informing my employer of my non Workers Comp health issue and I was told that he shouldn't have relied that info if it had nothing to do with my case. BEWARE OF THIS MAN....

Rude, incompetent and arrogant!

You’ll find Felmly to be dismissive of your concerns. He will offer no helpful interaction, he seems to be in a bad mood always. Told me he couldn’t help me & then offered no referrals or advice on how to proceed. I’ve never been so disappointed in any health care ‘provider’... find someone who cares about you & LISTENS. He cares zero about your discomfort. He watched me shake & writhe in pain w/o ever offering anything other than a follow up appt to see how I was progressing after my failed epidural injections. I can’t recommend this guy unless it’s to my worst enemy & then I don’t know if I could even do that....

I saw Dr Felmly for a workers comp visit. He was dismissive of my injuries that showed up on my MRI and didn’t recommend any further treatment for them. I didn’t feel like he was acting in my best interest. I now know the feeling of seeing a doctor who I believe is acting on the insurance companies best interest. I highly recommend seeing someone else or get a second opinion as I did. This goes for others at USC Orthopaedics also, that dismissed my other injuries. Thanks to another practice, I just had my first surgery for one of the injuries USC Orthopaedics dismissed me of.

Dismissive and defensive about a test which was ordered by another MD. As a result became blinded to the patient's (my sister) concerns, was rude and not willing to listen to her complaints of pain in the bilateral legs which has significantly increased over the past month. He advised her based upon the results of the MRI she should not be in pain ("wish mine looked as good"). Unfortunate that he cannot be more compassionate and caring. Definitely do not recommend this physician to anyone you care about!!

I watched Felmly operate for over 4 years. This is a horrible , miserable man. He routinely leaves the patient during the middle of surgery to eat lunch or make phone calls for periods of 15-20 minutes or longer. I witnessed him throwing surgical instruments against the wall in anger, belittle the nurse staff and regularly pitch tantrums. That said, I must say he is an average surgeon, not great, but average. Don't believe me? Ask him what his revision rate is for spine fusion I am amazed that he has not been called to account for his behavior, although he probably has, but Palmetto Richland's attorneys most likely went to bat to save the cash cow. Do yourself a favor and find a competent neurosurgeon in Columbia for your spine needs.

Dr Felmly has completed a lower spinal fusion, replaced prior fusion from OH and is scheduled to handle 6&7 in my neck. I have all the faith in him and under his care have not experienced any problems.

Dr. Felmley is a great surgeon. He and PA Farrah performed spinal fusion on my neck, and I've had no problems since. I also had him perform CTRs on both wrists. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Felmly is the opposite of most doctors today. He thoughtfully studies your tests. Listens to your concerns. gives you reassurance and then delivers great care. I highly recommend Dr. Felmly.

The worst bedside manor ever. This man never even took the time to hear complaints.
