Dr. William O. Griffiths, MD

I see Dr. Griffiths for general primary care. I have very few medical problems other than hypertension that requires medication and problems with my weight. First off, the staff is friendly. Keep in mind that due to COVID, they are still conducting temperature checks and they want you to wear a mask. Check in is always easy and I love that they have a large waiting room for patients to sit. They don't have magazines anymore though, I guess due to COVID. Dr. Griffiths is very friendly. I think he has a great bedside manner. When I first visited him he was very matter-of-fact and straightforward, but he also took very detailed notes. The second and third time were awesome visits. I think he's great for general care, and because I don't have any detailed issues. He also makes suggestions, but doesn't push any other treatment or specialists unless necessary. I've always perceived that he was concerned about my health and he always follows up from previous visits. Also I love the… MyDuke Health Chart because it's a great way to keep tabs on my health without having lots of paperwork.

Morgan is a female assistant who is consistently unpleasant and incompetent--not just uncaring, but actively, openly unpleasant. Do not trust your elders with this distasteful woman. It is such a shame that Dr. Griffiths tolerates her abuse of his patients. He's been a good doctor for our elderly relative, but needs to be more careful about staffing.

My husband and I just moved to Raleigh and needed a new primary physician. My impression was different from husbands, since I have worked for doctors most of my life and understand the importance of finding the right fit. He was NOT for me! No bedside manner, he hardly raised his head to talk to me ... took down information without any concern or interest to get to know me. Too quick and hardly did anything but listen to our lungs and heart. My husband said he doesn't need a best friend and would go back to him ... I feel building relationships with your patient helps to create trust and encourages your patient the ability to be honest and open about their healthcare. Dr. Mc Griffiths seems unapproachable and too curt in conversation. I felt like a name on his clipboard and no more. I had blood work done and I have changed my next appointment to see someone else and I'm encouraging my husband to do the same. I would advise Dr. Mc Griffith to read the review and take a better look… at himself. I never write a review but this had to be seen and heard!!!

I have been to Dr. Griffiths for over three years and during this time have had several visiting with him, mostly routine labs. I have had three incidents that have now prompted me to look for another primary care doctor. He is not thorough in his diagnosis and is not dedicated to finding out what's wrong with you. The first two problems were corrected by me, having to ask another physician about treatment. My current problem has not been handled in a professional manner. I have had to question him on several occasions about how to correct my current illness. My recent lab tests came by abnormal, yet he told me to wait for six weeks before coming back to see if they went away. When lab tests are abnormal, there is a problem. I questioned his reply and what treatment would be appropriate for me. He replied back that he would do additional tests..which he should have done in the first place. If you are looking for a physician that will treat colds, flu, and yearly lab work, then go to… him. If you want a thorough medical provider, look elsewhere.

Dr. Griffiths lacks empathy. I have had several negative interactions with him where he showed no empathy or compassion for the reason that I visited. I would not recommend him as a PCP.

Great Physician; HASN'T allowed the recent Health Care Propaganda, new trends & huge patient load to interfere with his commitment to providing each patient with professionalism, quality time, one on one interaction and diagnosis. Admirable interaction/communication with seniors.

Condensing and Rude! Seemed more interested in supporting the ABC Store, like the other reviewer said. Wanted override other physicians orders including specialist. Did not check me for what I went there for and did have time for me. I would not take a pit bull to him! My first and last appointment with him!

Very poor office management...the nurses are brusque,rude and unconcerned...he has a very poor bedside manner....impatient and indifferent....will never go back to him

Seems alert and observant. Tried to be meticulous with time, though he was very busy and 1st visits are always longer. I felt a bit rushed but as I was there with no complaints and there was an emergency, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.Will know more after? 2nd visit.

He might be a competent doctor, but after my first visit, I was very turned off from a personality standpoint. Felt like a number, and he moved very fast.
