Dr. William Fowler Hiltz, MD

This man is cold, disinterested and has a superiority complex not backed up by his ability to be a competent psychiatrist. He stopped several of my meds cold Turkey…including Venlafaxine… which most people know you cannot do. I spent two weeks in Fairfax hospital mostly thanks to this man. I would not recommend anyone to see him… unless you want a grumpy attitude and a pompous lack of willingness to listen to your concerns. Old fashioned ‘doctor knows best… don’t question me’ Yuk!!!

Hard to explain this man because he's obviously one of the most intelligent available but he is very disinterested and impatient and should probably conclude his stint as a psychiatrist.

This sick? man could use a lesson in psychology. Briefly: he... Lacked any pretense of any patience, or any care Showed NO interest in the patientâ??s opinion, and seemed visibly bothered by it Was not interested in the results of any of the patientâ??s recent diligent and reasonable research, nor the relevant logs and notes detailing sleep duration, meds, bedtime, etc. Made rude and condescending statements such as ~you seem to know it all~ and ~you have it all figured out, donâ??t you?~ Was not interested in the patientâ??s opinion that recent alcohol abuse was at all significant Stated an unwillingness to take the case ~because it may interfere with my retirement~ Seemingly rushed to a diagnosis of ~bi-polar~ and wanted strict and mindless compliance with a prescription for Seroquel (quetiapine) and Lamictal (lamotrigene) without discussion, since those are the drugs a family member diagnosed as bi-polar had success with. Gives every impression of being a… cold, uncaring, impatient, a$$, er, person intere$ted only in complete, quick and total patient compliance His ~complete~ lack of eye contact, and the obligatory-ness of his seemingly forced initial handshake gave me immediate pause within 5 seconds of meeting. (Based only on a handshake, and however premature -- and unlike my usual extreme objectivity, I am amazed that ~~No! Not this man!~~ was my immediate, superficial, yet 100% correct conclusion. I pity the fool that buys his practice and follows his classless act. This man NEEDS to retire (and yesterday would not be soon enough). Maybe he just had a REALLY bad day? Maybe he needs some juice to elevate his blood sugar out of a hypoglycemic condition. Regardless, his behaviour may constitute unprofessional conduct, and he is just plain rude. I'd drive to Spokane for care before seeing him or anyone associated with his practice again. Am I being clear enough?

This practitioner, MR. Hiltz, appears to be an â??old schoolâ?? doctor. He thinks his credentials are all he needs to ~demand~ respect and blind obedience. After all, â??the doctor knows best,â?? and the patientâ??s opinions and observations are worthless, right? Even if this man is correct, his bedside manner could not be worse. In a word, it sucks. Perhaps he could take a lesson from this actual internet search: â??Can You Be Sued For Bad Bedside Manners?â??

i'm sure to protect the patient's rights but our son received some sad news by himself and only after were we allowed to sit in and find out what was going on. Poor overall direction, no referral for family support or other help, not recommended

I feel like he doesn't take the time to listen to what I have to say. If he asks a question and you don't answer it the way he want's you to he stops you. I felt rushed. Only one of the ladies at the front desk is nice, I'm not so sure about the other one.

Receptionist was very rude and unprofessional shout at me in the waiting room. She would not allow me to see the doctor due to errors she had made.
