Dr. William James Hwang, MD

Dr Hwang, is a very caring doctor. He goes above and beyond to get to the root of the problem. I am from ND and traveled to Amarillo, TX. Just to get his professional opinion about my case. I value his opinion and he was spot on with his diagnosis.

I have been trying to get a follow up apt with Dr Hwang for the last couple of months and keep getting different Dr phone number to call for appointment and I want dr Hwang he is the first Dr to help me with migraine headache

This doctor orders tests that your insurance won't pay for and he gave me an injection that sent me to the hospital.

I went to Dr. Hwang back in Aug of 2016 for the first time. I went for loss of sensation on my left side as well as headaches. He did a complete workup (scans of the whole body including the brain and blood work) from head to toe; i did think it was a bit much. However I am GLAD he did that because he discovered I had a stroke(silent stroke)at some point (nothing to compare it to to see when it could have happened) which is contributing to my left sided weakness because it was on the right side of my brain. I am so thankful for that because i must now try to get my migraines under control. He also noticed I had a decreased pulse and he sent me to the vascular doctor only to determine I had Thoraic outlet syndrome on top of all this. So I am very THANKFUL for all he has done. I have seen comments about the staff, but I am hoping this is new staff because I have NOT had any issues with the staff. They have always been nice to me and helped me when I needed help. The ONLY bad thing I… can say is the wait is long. I have waited an hour after my appointment time but I just learned that when I I go see him i must expect to be there a while. Bring a book or play games on the phone. Thank you again for all you have done.

I went to see Dr. Whang several times and he ran lots of test and sent me to different doctors. He gave me Norco several times and then my fourth visit did not issue me any meds asked me if I was interested in back injections or surgery. I thought maybe he forgot about the meds so I came back and asked the staff, she replied I could not have any because I refused his recomendations so I could go see someone else. I was never instructed or told how the process went as far as treatment. He refused to fill out my handicap application because I would not do one of the suggestions. He basically refused to treat me any futher. His staff is rude, only one at the front has any knowledge and she is arrogant and rude. I will never go back to that office and will not recommend. He is dry and attitude stinks. I guess that is why his staff is the way they are. I called later to ask questions about the injections and his staff never called me back. I called them finally in about a week. The staff… was so non-chalant about my call. She told me he made a note in my chart from the last time I was there and she would have to ask him about making an appointment. I did not understand what she was talking about. I was upset last time because I called the staff three times before I went to pick up some forms and find out when I get there he refused to fill them out. Because I did not want injections or surgery right now. I drove 110 miles for nothing. If you don't do what he says he is finished with you. Never have I been treat so bad by a staff or doctor.

I had to call for my results and therefore would not have known the severity of my medical issues if I had not proactively contacted them. The people who take the calls are not exactly friendly. The doctor and sono tech were very kind.

This doctor is the most unprofessional medical professional I have ever known. It took the staff 4 months to get all my test lined up. Then when I wanted to get my results I had call up there every other day for 2 months to get them to return my phone calls. I was then diagnosed with a serious life long condition from the assistant on the phone the day before my appointment to get the official diagnoses, which freeked me out and serious results like that should be done by the doctor. Then the next day at the appointment my husband and myself were perfectly nice and asked him some questions about my condition and from the very first question he said,"I don't know, I am not GOD" in a loud demeaning voice. By the third question he got up and said to me I need a need doctor. I went to talk to him and he fussed at me in front of 30 doctors and medical staff and I cried it was so embarrassing. I was so shocked a doctor could act like that. I had put up with him and his staff putting… me off and not doing their job and now they are dragging their feet while I am trying to get my records to give to my new doctor. If I new how this doctor would be I would of never gone to see him. I would not recommend anyone go to see him.

The staff is rude, incompetent, arrogant, have no respect of hipa regulations, cannot read a drug test, cannot identify classes of drugs they test for. The communication between office and patient and doctor has an obvious breakdown. He ran multiple unnecessary tests. He fired me as a patient and lied about it. He doesnt Listen. He is arrogant. He has no compassion. He referred me to rheumitologist that didnt take my insurance. His staff said they did. He fired me for not going to tha doctor! Said I tested pos for drugs....they misread results! Getting my records took 2+months cost $25 took 2 120mi trips. They have no integrity. It took 1 month to get refill of meds. DONT GO TO WILLIAM HWANG! GO BEAT YOUR HEAD AGAINST A WALL! IT WILL FEEL BETTER THAN THE RUNAROUND YOU WILL SUFFER IF YOU GO THERE.

My total time in the office was terrible. At one point I went out to the desk to ask if I had been forgotten. I told him I was there to get a second opinion on my problems. His diagnosis was pretty accurate, however, he ordered (not suggested but ordered) tests for me in every direction. So many other doctors offices called me to set up times he had ordered, that I can't help but wonder if he gets a kick-back on those. His office called me twice to see why I had not scheduled some of those & that I could only tackle one problem at a time, the most urgent. I told them my reasons & that I had seclected a surgeon other than the one he referred me to & even told them why. Later I received a letter termininating our "relationship" because I had not followed his advice. A close friend told me he had been very rude on her last visit and then had termininated her as well. I guess we are supposed to be idiots with no ability to determine our own best care.

DR. HWANG, IS THE BEST EVER. HE IS VERY GOOD. HE IS NICE. I HAVE HAD A NEW HIP PUT IN AND IT FEELS GREAT. MY LEFT KNEE IS GETTING BETTER EVERY DAY. HIS STAFF THAT WORKS FOR HIM ARE SO KIND AND JUST FLAT OUT THE BEST. I FEEL I AM IN GOOD HANDS WITH DR. HWANG & HIS STAFF. I FEEL I WILL HAVE TO HAVE ANOTHER KNEE AND HIP PUT IN AND I WOULD NEVER GO TO ANOTHER DOCTOR. I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH. "THANK YOU DR. HWANG AND STAFF VERY MUCH..
