Quickly dismissed my previously treated spinal injuries despite abnormal diagnostic films (x-rays, MRI). Have been in pain for years from auto accident and motocross. I Suggested opioid pain meds which have been the only type to work which do not cause ulcerations of stomach and/or GI tract like all the NSAIDS (Motrin, naprosyn, -all anti-inflammatory drugs) and the worst drug of all, Tylenol(acetaminophen) which results in liver damage over the years even when taken either alone or in common combination formulations where the opioid is compounded into acetaminophen or APAP combination formulations such as Percocet or Vicodin present (opioid -oxycodone or hydrocodone with bad APAP or acetaminophen). Physicians are ignorant regarding pharmacology and don't like knowledgeable patients (especially Kerns)such as pharmacists or chemists in pain. It is a shame we who suffer cannot talk openly and candidly about these meds, without being labeled as a "drug seeker". This has been such a… frustrating ordeal with my treatment. Kevorkian was a godsend and ahead of his colleagues by decades. When the pain day in an day out triggers plans to end one's life, one is being mistreated or under-treated by their pain physician/prescriber and are not given or treated with the correct med and/or dose. Morphine type drugs have been around centuries and have a proven success record. Many more die from NSAIDS and APAP side effects/toxicity every day than the small amount or no opioid at all present in many prescription medications. Sure there will be some who abuse or seek the meds for psychological reasons, but they will eventually tell on themselves and get into trouble. Don't exclude the general populous from proper treatment from this minority group. It is wrong, non-compassionate and inhumane and physicians should lose their license and/or jailed for not treating real suffering individuals and the DEA responsible for threatening or putting fear into physicians minds and affecting their prescribing practices for suffering individuals should be jailed. Unfortunately, the best thing for these opioid paranoid physicians and "Rx police" (DEA) is for themselves or their loved-ones (i.e. children) to experience a condition indicative for opioid treatment and be forced to do without. Lets see how they act then. Get to work "GOD" on these inhumane and ignorant instigators promoting human suffering. If the chronic pain patient experiences "euphoria" or gets a little "buzz" with their bout of fighting pain, so what or "big f'in deal" man. It is a sick individual who choses a treatment modality who'd rather see and promote one to suffer rather than giving them a narcotic if it has helped them in past!
