Dr. William Robert Locke, MD

I was delivered by this doctor back in 1981. My father had to stay at home to watch my two older siblings and my poor mom had to go through labor and delivery all on her own. Since I was her third child, she was used to the labor pain, and hardly made a peep laboring through the contractions. Then when it was time to be delivered, this doctor came in an gave her an episiotomy without any anesthesia! My mom cried out in pain when he cut her, and he told her to "Shut up!". My mom cried out "BUT IT HURTS!!!". When the nurse realized what was happening, she quickly ran over with the needle of anesthesia so it could be administered. Afterwards, the nurse told my mom that this doctor was the absolute worst and that one of his past patients even threatened to sue him. As a resident he was rude, insensitive, unapologetic and down-right cruel with his treatment of my mom (and apparently other patients, too). I don't know what kind of doctor he is now 35+ years later, but let this review… be a window to the type of doctor he was when he was just starting out.

Dr Locke is absolutely fine for regular birth control visits. But if there is a problem or concern, or you have a question....choose another doctor.He is dismissive, obtuse and in general thinks poorly of his technical staff and female patients. I have very good insurance, but to hear him mumbling through the office corridor, I feel sorry for those women who don't. He will not be kind to you. He is also short tempered with his support staff and I think that speaks volumes about him as a doctor. (office staff and hospital staff)

I was a high risk patient (multiple complication factors) of Dr. Locke's. He took great care of me. He delivered two of my children and has handled other female problems and surgeries. I have never met a better doctor. During pregnancies I always felt assured because there was other doctors in the practice with him. I knew if he went on vacation there would still be a familar face. I am very appreciative of him, but I am most appreciative that when I went through my miscarriage between my pregnancies he met me at the hospital and made sure that I was taken care of medically. It is nice to have a doctor to be there for you in the bad times, as well as the joyous occasion of bringing a new life into this world.
