As a pain management specialist I work with patients whose lives are affected by chronic pain on a daily basis. I have practiced pain management exclusively for the past 15 years. I affiliated with Halifax Health Medical Center because administration and physicians were supportive of the pain management program. Currently, Halifax Health Medical Center is the only facility in the Daytona Beach area to offer a hospital-based pain management service. Over the years, our practice has achieved many "firsts" in the Funcoast area for the treatment of chronic pain including implanting pumps for the delivery of spinal narcotics, using spinal cord stimulation in the cervical spine and implanting electrodes for cranial nerve stimulation, and many more. I am pleased to work with the Halifax Health Family Medicine Residency Program students on their pain management rotation.

Dr. Mayfield is so kind and really listens to my concerns about my pain. He has gone above and beyond to treat my pain. When one treatment doesn't work he continues to look for a solution. Because of Dr. Mayfield I can do the things that I enjoy doing again, instead of feeling trapped in my house because of my pain. I don't know what I'm going to do if he ever retires. Dr. Mayfield is an answer to my prayers!

Went to Dr Mayfield for about 5 years and really changed personally Losted that personal touch and really needs to retire Doctors do not need to practice when they become short and nasty to a patient that asks questions. Even used the Lord's name in vain

Dr. Mayfild is a very caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable doctor. He explains the procedures and it is evident he is an expert in his field. He has my confidence that he will help me and knows what he is doing.

I had a severe bout of sciatica and had seen several other doctors about it. I had one office visit from Dr. Mayfield, one outpatient procedure and the sciatica was gone.

Dr. Mayfield and his partner Judy have been my lifeline through this ugly/scary journey that my body's roller coaster ride has put me on. Along with them and the sensitivity and respect and always dignity given by the special people that all together make up an incredible group that not only can take fear out of the reason for being there, but actually make laughter part of the stay! From office visit to entering for a procedure, exceptional team of people from start to finish. For that day I felt normal!

Dr. Mayfield has been keeping me moving and active with the care that he gives me. I am very happy with his service and attitude toward pain management. I will continue seeing him when the pain gets to much. Thank you to the Dr. and staff.

Dr. Mayfield and all of his staff members were extremely caring and professional. Dr. Mayfield is very caring...he explains everything throughout the procedure and would not hesitate (already have) recommend him to friends.
