Dr. Naftal was terrible, doesn’t treat you with respect and wants you in and out as fast as possible, never going back and I’ve never been more displeased with a doctor in my life

Had kidney stone. In hospital and in so much pain, but stone would not pass. Dr Naftel (called by hospital for me) moved me to the head of his schedule that day, a Saturday) and inserted a stent from kidney to bladder, to hold me over until I can get the stone crushed. Immediately out of pain. He stopped by the hospital Sunday, said come to office and set up lithotripsy as soon as released. Very friendly, gave good explanations of everything going on. Answered all my questions. And has lots of solid experience, but seems young and energetic. Very good choice for a urologist.

Didn't like that he did my prostate surgery although he said my prostate was small and did the old fashioned surgery instead of the lazer surgery which he was supposed to do and now claims he doesn't do lazer surgery. This caused my to come inside losing my climax sensation.

Dr Naftel made time for me when my appointment was not confirmed. He takes the time to answer all my questions and explains the situation. Seems upbeat and not rushed. Office seems to be run efficiently and professionally.

My father died of prostate cancer. Both of my brothers have had prostate surgery. While my PSA remains relatively low, I am understandably concerned about prostate issues as I am now one year older than my father when he died. Dr. Naftel is the least communicative doctor I have ever had "examine" me. My mistake I sent to him a second time after his partner, Dr. Ingram, retired. He spent less than 5 minutes with me, didn't lay a hand on me (much less perform the requisite DRE) and spoke less than 25 words the whole time. Maybe I am overly sensitive about my family history, but there is no way I am going back to this group again.

Insurance has sent me to Dr Naftel three times now. While I don't expect my Doctors to be "sunshine and rainbows', I do expect a certain amount of attentiveness. I was never really sure WHY I was there (other then it was a way for him to get another copay out of me). He spent the limited amount of time we had together, reading through my file. Little to no eye contact. Little to no dialog. It could have been handled on the phone.

I am an older patient. I went to Dr. Naftel to check out blood in my urine. After the tests had been run, the doctor said I had kidney stones and an enlarged prostate. He did not offer any suggestions how to take care of the stones. When I asked for a PSA test to check out my prostate, he told me it was not necessary because if I had cancer it would not make any difference because of my age!!!!! He then walked out of the room without any concern for my health or follow-up care. I am getting a new doctor who is concerned for his patients well-being and does not insinuate that someone's age is a factor for not following up on a potential serious health issue. He should not work with elderly patients - EVER!

Above average experience. Explained the testing results to my satisfaction. Would refer others to this physician.Just received my follow-up notification.

Before the surgery he spent as much time as I needed for him to convince me that the surgery was the best way to go. Right after the surgery he said it was a tremendous success but I've had complications ever since and each time I'd book an appointment with him to discuss it, I found the wait time to be extensive and he was completely dismissive of my concerns. I feel like he destroyed my life: after nearly a year following the surgery I still suffer from incontinence and ED. If that's success I'd hate to see what failure looks like. A word of advice to anyone considering prostate removal: check out the doctor COMPLETELY before going under the knife.
