Dr. Reed is an excellent surgeon, he doesn't sugarcoat your condition and tells you honestly what the problem is in a way you'll understand. I was unable to walk or even stand for even fifteen minutes at a time. Within a few weeks after double surgery (double because he had to fix another surgeons mistake), I was able to stand and walk without severe pain for years. Every day I continue to get better, I can touch my leg without searing pain. I am very grateful to Dr. Reed and his team for giving my life back to me.

I was recommended a lumbar fusion by three different surgeons who didn’t even mention artificial discribe placement and come to find out don’t even perform. I had a lumbar disc replacement. Dr. Reed is probably the most blunt Dr. I’ve ever met but that’s what I like if you want your hand held he’s not for you, results matter. His staff is amazing and bridge the gap

After recieving two opinions of spinal fusion, I sought an opinion from Dr Reed on my low back issues knowing he was a disc replacement specialist - a much better option than fusion. He quickly ruled out lumbar disc replacement and offered a minimally invasive solution he felt would solve my pain and sciatic issues. He phoned me personally twice as we moved toward scheduling surgery. Short procedure (1.5 hrs) and very reasonable cost, he opened a window in my lamina, repaired my ruptured disc, cleaned out the nerve pathways (stenosis) and removed some arthritis. 7 weeks later I am pain-free, with no restrictions, ready to strengthen my core and return to normal activity. Very thankful for finding Dr Reed. Read his bio - his military service in particular was very indicative of his approach.

Dr. Reed recently did my carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. I also have a busted disc in my neck that was causing me a great deal of pain that my original pain doctor wanted to operate on first. Dr. Reed suggested that the carpal tunnel surgery might work first. HE WAS RIGHT. After hand surgery the neck pain has been seriously reduced. Dr. Reed is a very highly skilled Surgeon, knows what he is doing and he joked around with me. He is sympathetic to my mental health problems when speaking with me and doing the surgery. Dr. Reed was recommended to me due to my neck issues. I was having numbness and tingling going down my left arm, five to six zingers daily shooting through my arm. Dr. Reed was straight forward and up front with me on what needed to be done (disc replacement). Dr. Reed and his entire staff were very caring and courteous before, during and after the surgery (2-level, total disc replacement). I noticed a difference that evening right after the surgery. I didn't have any numbness or tingling in my arm. Two weeks after surgery and no pain, numbness or tingling. Two months later and only two zingers, rather than the daily ones. I would highly recommend Dr. Reed if you have any cervical, spine or lumbar issues.

In Early 2018 I received a botched back surgery from Dr. William 0. Reed! The pain and grief that she has suffered is beyond measure! He placed a screw in my PELVIS and one in my......SPINAL CANAL! I could have been paralyzed had I fallen! Secondly, I ended up with a urinary tract infection because the nurse on duty REFUSED to remove my catheter! There are many more details about the staff care facility that they provided was okay on some days and others....well I would never wish anyone's parent to experience treatment such as this. Unbelievably Unreal from wall to wall! So Sad =( I was released from the hospital without pain medications and they were also very difficult to obtain from the physician. After 3 weeks of physical therapy which hurt me more than in helped me (I would later discover). After getting my second fusion surgery six months later, nerve damage was discovered! This is directly related to the first surgery! I still suffer; having to take serious… pain medication (for 17 months) and unable to perform normal everyday activities that others take for granted. ((Very Sad)) A surgery that could have so surely gone right the first time around if he actually cared about people. This man needs to be held accountable! Would someone please help?!

I suffered an injury to my lower back in 2011. I've had 2 prior surgeries on this location (L5-S1) that each worked for a few years. Both surgeries caused me to be out of work for weeks and had corresponding long recovery times. When my disc herniated and compressed my nerve root for the third time, the first doctor I visited strongly recommended a fusion of the L5/S1 vertebrae. I researched my options and found that Dr Reed is one of the leading surgeons in the Midwest who performs artificial disc replacements. I went to visit Dr Reed and he suggested that I was a good candidate for an artificial disc total replacement. It has now been 3 weeks since the surgery, I have been back at work for 2 weeks and the only pain I still have is some muscles that are still adjusting to me suddenly getting my old height back. I strongly recommend Dr William O Reed Jr for patients who are told by other surgeons to have a fusion performed. I have full mobility, which would have been limited… with a fusion. I am optimistic that I may never need another back surgery, which would have been a very high probability should a fusion have been performed.
