Dr. William Andrew Searcy, MD

After being to multiple doctors, i was reccomended to Dr. Searcy's office. My son had just been released from childrens due to rsv and pneumonia. He was awesome in helping us with after care. He has helped us diagnosis a skin condition on my sons face that multiple dermatologists misdiagnosed. He listens to my concerns and answers them. When he is sick, he always gets in same day. We have been going there for almost 5 1/2 years now. Kim, his nurse is amazing too! She is always so kind and caring!

I have taken my children to Dr. Searcy for years and he is great we have always loved him but his receptionist is horrible! My 2 month old baby had just gotten released from nationwide after having rsv and bronchitis with breathing problems and she informed me by phone she was unable to run his insurance and that if we were not able to pay in full that day he would not be able to be seen after just being released from the hospital! I called the insurance they did not see what the issue was I called Dr. Searcy’s office again with the billing number again and asked her to run it AGAIN explaining to her the insurance company does not know what the issue is and she said oh it worked I don’t know why it didn’t work earlier. I have never seen a pediatric doctor turn a baby away whose family has came to their office for years because they were having trouble running the insurance. She has always been rude every time we come in but this really pushed me over the edge with her. Even though I… don’t want to stop seeing Dr. Searcy I am really considering taking my children to a different pediatrician just because of the receptionist!

I have been with this practice for a fair amount of time, but I have had an encounter with two employees that have made my overall experience not so great. Let me start by saying, that I am a patient myself. A couple weeks ago I had a really bad case of Staph Infection and I tried to get in to see Dr. Searcy, when I called to try to make an emergent appointment my parent was told to go and take me to an emergency room or urgent care because the doctor didn't have enough time to see me. I was in chronic pain and could not walk because of how severe my infection was; my mom took me to the dermatologist, whom is very busy, and they got me in that day (usually you would have to make an appointment weeks in advance). Point being, I was told to go somewhere else and get treated rather than going to the pediatrician. More recently, I had to go back to the doctor for my yearly check up, to my understanding my appointment was at 1pm, I arrived to my appointment at 12:34 to be there early just… incase I could get in and out earlier. The door was locked. I looked up the hours on the website and it stated, " Thursday- 9 am- 12pm" to my knowledge I just could have gotten the days mixed up and the office was actually closed. My mom then gets a call when we arrive home and the lady on the phone then tells us at 1:03 that I am late for my appointment. We go back. After my appointment we brought the situation as to the confusion with the website to the front desk and them we are told that excuses like, " we should know the hours" " it was lunch break" and " how long have you been coming to this office?". Yes we were told that we should know the hours because we have been coming to this office for so long. As we are talking to the young lady at the front desk, the nurse comes into the conversation and starts arguing more. She had the audacity to tell my mother that she has had enough of us and that we should " go find a new practice, it's time for you to move on". Clearly, we were not treated with the respect we deserved from these people and we felt as if we were not treated as if we were important. Needless to say, we will no longer be attending this practice and my family will be taken to another office.

Can't say enough about Dr. Searcy!! He's a lovely man and very caring. He'll take excellent care of your child!
