Dr. William Robert Sheldon JR., MD

Dr. Sheldon was great, caring, and detailed, with his medical records. He was old school, and documented everything. Unfortunately, he should have never had his wife as the office manager, she was rude, and defensive. She failed to send documents that where requested by other Dr. office on several occasions. She refused to send prescriptions in to the Pharmacies, you would have to physically pick up the prescription and turn them in. Online it shows the office is permanently closed and the phone number is not working. Unfortunate, but He himself was a Great Doctor.

Do not use this Dr or the Southern Endocrinology and Diabetes of Plano. The office staff are especially incompetent and rude. First visit - it was clear he hadn’t looked over anything my family dr had sent to him. He’s very disorganized. On the second visit, they made me wait for 45 minutes in a room and then a staff person came and said “the doctor can’t see you because we have misplaced your labs”. They, of course, blamed the lab company – but why did they find this out while I’m sitting in the room? They had two weeks to discover the mix up! The biggest laugh came when they still charged me for the visit – even though I hadn’t seen the doctor at all! I complained to the front desk that I needed to have my money refunded and she refused. I asked her “what If I fire you all? Do I get my money back?” She said “no”! I then asked if I was going to be recharged for the labs they lost – no answer. I went home and found a new endocrinologist and called them back and fired… them. The practice admin wanted to speak to me and offered no apologies, just defensiveness. She did offer to refund my money – but reluctantly. This is not a professional practice. Do yourself a favor and RUN ELSEWHERE.

disgraceful behavior by office staff and very disappointed by dr's performance . called to see why no refills for regular insulin medication. When explained to office staff to make correction and change from monthy refill to 3 mnth refill staff blew up said issue was on pharmacy side . instead of agreeing to get corrected hang up on me and what's worse intentionally rejected the refill request by the pharmacy. Was told by pharmacy that dr's office never responded . so they are intentionally refusing to process and complete refill request. . this dr not interested in getting you off meds or attempting to reverse diabetes only keeping you coming back for refills visits at 250.00 per visit. Not interested in the well being of patients only the well being of his wallet . never going back dont expect much real health care from this hack total waste of time and exceptional rude vindictive staff . continue your search elsewhere

I have been a patient of Doctor Sheldon for over 5 years and have always found him to be knowledgeable and thorough . He listens to his patients and has always answered my questions and provided his expertise in the treatment of my Type 2 diabetes. He has done a excellent job in keeping my diabetes under control. Finally , his staff and nurses have always been courteous and proficient making my visits enjoyable Mike S

Initially I liked him. Not a tech savy office, still uses paper prescriptions, but he was nice and kept me stable. However I got tired of begging for generic medication every appointment. I have been on same thing for years. It works great. But every appointment I get grief about wanting generic. Final straw was he normally sent my labs to a local place in my network. Last appointment he didn't ask, didn't check if it was in network, and sent labwork to some Houston hospital that is now billing me $300 for labwork that has always been free. I'm not sure, perhaps he gets kickbacks, perhaps office staff doesn't know how to check networks, but name brand meds and out of network pharmacy's are at my expense. I can't afford his choices over my needs anymore.

I am completely fed up with Sheldon and his practice. While his staff is friendly, and it's easy to schedule appointments, he is terrible to work with. He is rude, doesn't really seem to give a flying sh about your problems, and has terrible bedside manners. Every time I went in, he would hound me about why I wasn't taking birth control. He knew I had low thyroid function, but never asked me about it more than if I was taking my medication. I have type 1 diabetes, so I always need insulin. It's not a fun candy I take every now and then. I NEED these drugs to live, and he refuses to fill prescriptions unless you come into the office and pay a copay. Also, he doesn't fax or use modern technology. He uses paper scripts, and only paper. I misplaced my most recent script and he denied my refill request sent from the pharmacy. I am currently out of my insulin. He said I could drive up to the office and pick up another script. That was his solution to the problem. I work very far from his… office, so there is no way I can do that. So thanks, Sheldon, if I wind up in the hospital it's you who put me there. He also will not put you on any therapies that isn't him adjusting your sliding scale, and telling you to check your blood sugar more often. I tried to get a continuous glucose meter, and he refused that saying I should just do a finger stick more often. I couldn't even get him to talk to me about an Insulin pump. I had a demo pump on from Omnipod on during my last check up, and when he saw it he acted very butt hurt about it, stopped his check up, and straight up asked me why I was there. Please, please, PLEASE do not put your health in the hands of this man. I am regretting ever setting foot in his door.

Incredibly rude Doctor. Should not be practicing medicine. Has zero compassion.

I would not recommend going here, especially if you are a Type 1 Diabetic. He is arrogant and rude. I dreaded going to my appointments. He did not communicate well with me or meet my needs. My previous doctor would write prescriptions for whatever I needed to manage my diabetes. I asked him to write a prescription for more insulin, because I was using more than he was giving me and I like to have backup in case a vial breaks, and he refused. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR.

I don't like to discount bad reviews about a physician because we have been to so many who deserved such reviews, but we have had a different experience with Dr Sheldon. When we were waiting to be seen, a woman was leaving who thanked the staff for getting her seen right away and for not charging her for the visit. His fee is about one-third or more less than what we pay other less-educated physicians. He writed prescriptions for 6 months and his staff is incredibly friendly and accomodating. I hope it continues, but I wanted to give our experience for a fair review.
