Dr. William Lee White, MD

A plastic surgeon in Joplin, MO recommended Dr White when a basal cell tumor was found growing around my right eye. Although I could still see out of my eye, a CT scan showed the tumor had attached to the eye and the only sure way to get rid of the cancer was to remove my eye with the tumor. You might describe Dr White as "direct", and maybe to some that means "business-like", but I've appreciated his directness. He did a very skilled/clean edge job on the flap that now covers where my eye was. His staff have been very helpful too. I would recommend him.

He is always in a hurry. I never felt comfortable when meeting with him. He's a nice man, but can be a little condescending at times. He gets very defensive when you ask questions and doesn't want to explain things in detail. I had two procedures on my cheek with him and both times he was more concerned with just getting it done, rather than the actual outcome. The second procedure he numbed me, put me in the chair, and I didn't see him again for 30 minutes. I never felt like he was focused. Now I'm left with a scar that looks no better than the birthmark what I started with. I'm even more self conscious - I had lived with the birthmark for 24 years and went to him to hopefully look better, not worse. I'm now working with another surgeon to try and fix it. Also, my final follow up visit was the last straw for me. I waited 1.5 hours in the waiting room and never saw him. I ended up leaving because I was so frustrated.

If U want a good surgeon run do not walk to the nearest exit. I read the previous comments and did not pay any attention. Better yet don't waste your time go to another Dr. this one is a screw up!!

From the start of my journey it has been a wonderful experience. Dr White did surgery on my eyelids and they absolutely look perfect. His staff was wonderful, prompt and on top of things. When it came time to turn in my request to my insurance company his staff did their due diligence and my insurance approve a much needed surgery. I would recommend anyone and have to Dr White:-)
