Dr. Xiuqing Jenny Ru, MD

I've been I seeing Dr. Jenny Ru for regular blood check ups for a few years now. I think she can be very nice, can be a bit sharp if you don't agree with her, but she can be friendly and compassionate also. So I'd say she is a real person, not a robot like so many Drs. So I was surprised to read some of the other reviews. I think she has a real personality, mostly vey nice to me, but she didn't like it when I told her If I ever got worse I wouldn't have chemo, or radiation as I think that treatment is wicket. I believe there is a kinder treatment out there that maybe hasn't been found yet. So no, I wouldn't put my body though that crap! In my case there is no treatment at this point so its just check the blood and watch and see visit. The staff are nice, the nurse is very nice, the visit is very quick, which I'm delighted about. There is no waiting for hours sitting and waiting waiting like so many Drs. offices. I'm in and out in less that a hour, sometimes a half hour. However, I… agree with another person the charging for a copy of a blood report is not good at all. They get paid enough for our visit and a good office should be glad to give a copy of tests. So they do need to change that!!!! There are very, very few Drs. I'd give a high rating to so I think I'm being fair giving a 4 rating. One thing I like most about her is that I have found her to be very, very good at returning calls! I'm surprise at how quickly she gets back to me. Not her staff, herself! I like that! Unlike many other Drs. So I think she does care and she can have a friendly compassionate side to her also and she takes approbate action. So what more can I expect from a Dr.? So for now this is my opinion of her. I'm happy enough with her. Time will tell if my opinion will ever changes.

I have been a grateful patient of Dr. Ru for 2 years now, and I could not be more happy. I was near death from liver cancer then, and she pulled out all the stops to get me stabilized and on the road to successful treatment of my deadly form of cancer. She has never given up, always looking for a stronger treatment option, which she found with immunotherapy as soon as the FDA approved it a year ago. In short I would not be alive without her. God bless you, Dr. Ru!

If you look up this doctor you will immediately see that she doesn't have good reviews on multiple patient experience sites and that should be a warning. I was apprehensive but the initial encounter was decent, however I could not ignore the nagging feeling that she is a bit "off." Well finally my concerns were warranted, not only is she rude she also screams at people. She is arrogant and lacks bedside manners and any decency, I don't know if that is because of her culture (Asian people think doctors are gods) but if you are looking for someone who is compassionate and treats you with respect KEEP LOOKING!

I am a lower white blood cell patient and have been a patient of Dr. Jenny Ru for several years. Usually her office puts everything on the patient Portal and won’t help the patient print out the prescription/test report and wants to train the patient to use the computer no matter they can or not or charge extra $1.00/paper fee, even though I have Blue Cross/Shield PPO and pay $40 co-pay. Recently, Dr. Ru’s Portal did not update a lab test order and caused the test results not for this visit checking on 9/28/17 Thursday, then blamed it on my husband’s computer skills. Thus Dr. Ru reordered a blood test and to go to next door Torrance Memorial Hospital (TMHL) lab, she promised TMHL is faster and she will contact me with the results that night or no later than the next morning Friday—but nothing at all. I have called and left voice mails 9/29&10/2 at her office and sent several emails through the Portal—totally no response. Then emails were put on to two other people without any… explanation—it seems she cut me off. I am a blood patient and my body cannot produce blood regularly so every 3-6 months I need a blood test. It is routine work, the lab test had not been updated and wasted my blood and the lab test charge. Can’t I be concerned about these issues? Why Dr. Ru kicked me out as a penalty? I think the way I have been treated was unethical. Can’t I complain about her callousness, wasting my blood, and without my agreement kick me to another Doctor even I don’t know who he/she is?

Unethical illegal immoral entitled narcissistic witch who has never heard the phrase Do No Harm. Non-existent bedside manner. Horrific woman and doctor. Needs psychoanalysis and to be investigated by the AMA.

Horrible doctor with nonexistent bedside manner. No treatment offered for very early cancer due to age, instructed to discontinue all medications, which would have caused imminent death. Continuously yelled at family members as well as health care team referred by Dr Ru. Inconsistencies in written reports. Find another doctor!!!

When I first met Dr. Ru she was straight to the point which I liked. Since I've gotten to know her through these many months of treatments, ups & downs. I simply adore her because not only am I getting excellent health care, but she makes me feel important (my life, my emotional well being). Her staff is warm and caring and that really is a plus when you're sitting there being infused with chemo. I feel safe with my life in Dr. Ru's hands /care and appreciate her tremendously. Absolutely honest, thorough and caring. I developed more and more confidence in her by the minute of her explanation of all aspects of my condition.

I really enjoy working with Dr. Jenny Z. Ru. She spends time with me, not only talking about my breast cancer, but also about other things going on in my life. When I thought I had a reoccurrence in my left breast, she immediately got me an appointment at the Vlasik Pollack Breast Center in Torrance.

If you want to go to a doctor that says there is no hope for fighting cancer and that you should give up, then Dr. Jenny Ru will be the specialist you would want to go see. When other doctors gave us hope and promising treatments, Dr. Ru came in and said there none. She took the patient from feeling like they could fight the disease, to completely giving up on life. She is a horrible oncologist and is not working to save lives. Do not see her if you have hope.
