Dr. Yael Raz, MD

I was assigned to Dr. Raz after my long time ENT (who was amazing) moved to California. Dr. Raz can't be bothered to respond to messages - even about upcoming surgeries and new medications to treat a chronic condition. After 4 months of getting dodged by her, I asked to be referred somewhere else. I got a referral for a notorious scam artist in the Portland area. She's an idiot.

Dr Raz performed a long and difficult surgery to remove cancer from my left ear channel. She is very easy to talk with and will spend the time needed so you understand the procedure. She will restore the hearing on my left side with a Bone anchored hearing Aid in the near future.

That I've never felt rushed or ignored by Dr. Raz, and I've visited to receive checkups, cleanings, and emergent care for ear infections repeatedly since 2008.

Dr. Raz is knowledgeable and does a good job of explaining things in a way that is easily understood, without any hint of condescension. She listens well, spends time, and provides useful suggestions. Very good bedside manner.

After waiting 1 hour and 55 minutes after my scheduled appointment time a with Dr. Raz, an "intern" in his first week of internship finally used an otoscope to examine my ear. He knew very little including a lack of knowledge of the components of the ear canal. After another 30 minutes Dr. Raz appeared absolutely rushed. She spent less than 5 minutes with me. Dr. Raz's demeanor was very abrupt and therefore, blatantly rude. She asked a question and listened to the intern's answer and not to my response. Ear infection diagnosed 3 days later by another ENT physician. Recommendation: Dr. Raz spend time with your patients and lose the "better than thou attitude". I have more education in science and medicine and more experience than you. I would never treat another person the way you treated me. Shame on you!

Dr. Raz was in a terrific hurry. She is probably capable but if that isn't transmitted to the patient, what good is it. I realize she has many other patients besides me which is probably why she is so rushed.
