My experience with Bakhai at ECMC IOP was shockingly cold and dismissive.Over the entire month I was in the program, I spent maybe two minutes total speaking to him. He barely asked questions, showed little interest in understanding me, and refused to continue the stimulant medication I had been stable on for 7 years for a diagnosis I’ve had since childhood - even temporarily while transitioning to a new clinic.When I tried advocating for myself, he responded that they need to “control the use of controlled substances.” No nuance, no discussion, no interest in my documented history. Just rigid, one-track thinking.What says the most is that I was warned about him beforehand by my counselor who works with him in the program. That alone should tell future patients what to expect.Mental health patients deserve compassion and collaborative care. Bakhai came across as detached, judgmental, and completely uninterested in actually helping. He needs to lose his license. Malpractice at its… finest.

I was stressed over being hospitalized and he would not even give me my meds that my personal psych doctor prescribed! Unbelievable and I felt he had a n attitude as well. He won’t let you be part of your recovery !! Run from him

incompetence and poor bedside is the worst combination! He told me that OCD is not a serious illness and then referred me to a psychologist that did specialized in Psychodynamic Therapy. No mention of the first line treatment for OCD which is Exposure Response Prevention. I have the priveledge of seeing the world experts on OCD and they thought that this should be in even a general psychiatrists scope of practice. Sorry Yogi you suck!

I saw him after visiting the ER and had to go through EOB for 72 hours. He was very hard to talk to and was never really around. His experience with addiction patients has lead him to avoiding certain medications regardless if a patient needs it or not. I only got to talk to him twice for 5 minutes. Not only that, I ended up crying cause of how cruel he can be to people.
