Dr. Youssef W. Guergues MD, MPH

I've been seeing Dr. G ( his nickname) for 3 years ! I really have no complaints other than he never seems to want to sit and talk. I realize he's busy, when I go into his practice theres always more then a few people waiting for their turn with him, but this isn't an excuse. He needs to give each and every one of us at least 15 minutes, we pay for his time. I've needed to talk to him several time's about my medication, and each and every time he say's, "we'll discuss it next time, and out the door he goes !! The next month rolls around and the same thing. He's actually very quick to exit the door before you have a chance to get another word in, almost like he has blinders on and cotton in his ears. I recently saw him 2 weeks prior to my once a year vacation, for a month ! I asked him to only write me a prescription for 2 weeks, and I'd come back in 2 weeks and get a full month's, so I could enjoy my vacation with out worrying about running out of my meds, or dealing with pain while… trying to conserve my meds. Here again, there was no discussion, the only thing he said was "NO, I can't do that !!! And...Out the door he went !! My husband see's another pain doctor, he had Dr. Sharma, and after his 2nd back surgery, she decided to cut his meds in half, something he wasn't ready to do, his surgery was only done 2 months prior to her doing this, but that's another story in it's self. My point is, His doctor did exactly what I asked mine to do. Write a script for 2 weeks, allowing him to come back in 2 weeks to get a full months of. He didn't even have to go back, his doctor "listened", and gave him both scripts that day, and saved him $50 ! Dr. G could be a great doctor, but he needs to retire if he's that burnt out he doesn't bother to listen to his patients. I'm talking 15 minutes, not a whole hour for goodness sakes!! My $50 is coming out of my measly pension / disability. I can't afford this every month but I do it because the government says I have to!!. needless to say, I'll be looking for another doctor after my vacation. I have nothing vindictive to say about this whole practice, but it kind of reminds me of a pill mill, as long as he hands me my script every month, he feels he's doing his job!! And that's not enough !! It's too important to not have time to listen to concerns of his patients, I hope Dr. Malick reads this, and has a heart to heart with Dr. G. or he may find his practice under scrutiny once again!! One last comment, I had an MRI done, prescribed by my Family Dr., and requested a copy be sent to Dr. G. I know he received it, and asked him about the results. he didn't have it in hand at the time, and told me he'd review it, and we'd talk the next appointment, which...never happened. I once again brought it up, and same thing, next time !! Sadly, as I said, I'll be looking for a doctor who spends time with me, I'm not happy being on pills, but I can't seem to get anywhere with this Dr. Ok, Rant over!! Thanks !!

He's friendly, courteous, I'd recommend him to a friend & family

Very poor bedside manner

Only thing he knows how to do is give shots. I had MRI and he didn't even go over with me. Just said come back in 2 weeks for a shot. I have a tumour in my back and 4 herniated discs

Office staff is terse and inept. My wife was scheduled with another doctor. When we arrived for the MONDAY appointment we were told that that doctor was only there on Thursdays and Fridays. So they threw her in with this slovenly, ill-mannered doctor. The medical assistant said she would investigate the reason for the mix up but forgot to do it. Front office did not even know this doctor's first name, let alone how to spell it. When we called for a price for the injection procedure ahead of time we were directed and redirected from billing office to billing office in which NOBODY knew how much they charge ! We were given THREE different amounts for our portion of the bill. This seems like a "keystone cop" type office where burned-out, old anesthesiologists go to retire. We cancelled her scheduled procedure as fast as we could in order to avoid the fee for cancelling inside of the 24 or 48 hour window. I recommend avoiding this practice like the plague. My wife and I both… worked in the hospital and doctors' office world for over 30 years so we know the drill !!!!!

very curt and unfeeling doesnt seem to really care about you at all forces those painfull injections that are very costly and dont help.. doesnt listen to what you say not a good doctor

Doctor does not actually give exams, just provides meds and gives shots. Didn't even look at the injection site that is messed up.
