Dr. Yu-Cheng Jeffrey Chen, MD

I have every confidence in the world for him to care for me. He is keeping a close eye on my condition. Caring and concerned are two words that fit him. I would give his name as a great doctor.

Dr Chen is not only caring, he is knowledgeable and thorough. Highly recommended.

Not a good doctor. Does not answer questions. Does not follow up with patients.

In my personal opinion I find this doctor to be inept, incompetent and totally ignorant of a patient's complaints and more concerned about his license than actually treating a patient... I went to see this physician with chest pain and shortness of breath, big family history of heart disease on both sides including congestive heart failure and diabetes on both sides of the family. This physician refused to give me anything for the chest pain and told me to come back in a month! I asked for a handicapped license and he refused saying I did not meet the criteria! I told him I couldn't walk into the building with out chest pain and shortness of breath! The licensing states if a patient cannot walk 200 feet without shortness of breath and have to stop to restthey meet the eligibility. He still refused. I saw him a month later. Still having chest pain throughout the entire time and shortness of breath upon walking and chest pain and asked him again for Nitroglycerin. He refused and… said he was going to take me to surgery. I had labs done, which showed I was SEVERELY ANEMIC! I had to call the office, they did not bother to call me when they received numerous abmormalities on my labs. I inquired and asked them about it. They said I was severely anemic. I asked the physician directly if he was going to treat me for the anemia and he refused saying he wasn't that kind of doctor! Please note, on this website, it indicates he is not only a cardiologist, but an internal medician physician and they do treat anemia along with any other blood abnormalities. While in the cath procedure room, I was having chest pain. I asked the physician four times if I was suppose to be having chest pain. Not once did he ask me if I was, he merely replied I am in your heart. The entire cardiac staff had told me I would not feel anything at all other than a stick to the groin and the burning of the medicine going in and that would be it. After the procedure I told Dr. Chen I had some questions for him. He said I am not going to answer them, that I will see you in one week. You won't remember. I told him twice I was fully alert and oriented and wanted my questions answered. He refused. A third time I finally said you will answer my questions. I am very alert and oriented. I asked him if he was going to give me Nitroglycerin for my chest pain and he said NO! I will see you in one week in my office. For a solid 48 hours I had a horrible case of severe angina. The hospital called me in follow-up and I told them about the chest pain. They asked me if I had called the physician and I told them Why? The doctor refused in Cath Procedure room to give me anything! He had refused for over a month to give me any Nitroglycin. On my return trip - now third visit to the office, I sat down and told him my symptoms and said I was still having the chest pain, that I had had it for 48 hours post procedure and was he going to give me Nitroglycerin. He looked at me and said "You think you are smarter than I am?" I told him I am a patient with classic signs and symptoms and I want a direct answer as to why I am being refused pain medicine for my heart? At that time, he starts getting agitated, flipping through my chart back and forth, takes off for a phone call, comes back in and flips through the chart over and over again and then said "You didn't give me time to explain!". I looked at hime and said "What in the four times didn't I give you time to explain?" He repeated the statement again. He said "Well you do have something called Pulmonary Hypertension, but you didn't give me time to explain!" I asked him what is normal pressure and he said 25. I asked him what my pressure was and he said 50. He then said " So I am going to give you Nitroglycerin for this". My mouth fell open and I asked him, "You are going to give me Nitroglycerin for this now?" He said yes... Interestingly, he put Pulmonary Hypertension on the discharge diagnosis of my Cardiac Cath Procedure, but still refused to give me Nitroglycerin at that time, even though I was in fully fledged chest pain during the procedure. Also interesting is that not once did he ever answer me if I was in congestive heart failure! Comes to find out, by my labs I was in congestive heart failure. Not only all of this, but this physician failed to explain anything about Pulmonary Hypertension. It is a deadly disease that there is no cure for. I asked him if he was going to be putting me on lasix for the ankle swelling and he said yes. He first prescribed 40 mgs, but I told him I had taken 40 in the past and that I needed 80 before anything would happen. He changed it to 80, putting 80 mg on the medical sheet, but leaving 40 on the chart. So when I went to get it filled, his office would only fill the 40 mgs not the 80. I requested my medical records as I was suppose to be leaving to go out of the country, asking for everything. The office did not give me my entire chart, in spite of my being very specific and asking for a copy of the entire chart. I had to go in there twice to get it. Then I found out by looking at my records, not only was the medical chart wrong on my medication, they also had screwed up my birthdate several times throughout the chart, sometimes putting me as 52 and then others putting me as 42! I reported the errors to the girl at the front desk saying that they needed to correct this, that there were errors throughout my entire chart. My writing very very legible and yet they screwed it up! An employee called me up, amonishing me for telling them about their errors, saying I was being rude! I ended up with chest pain over that phone call. The bottom line is, not only is the staff unprofessional, but they cannot maintain records properly as evidenced by my medical records and when you point it out to them, they chew

Dr. Chen is such a wonderful doctor and cardiologist. I recommend him HIGHLY!!!!
