Dr. Yu Zhao, MD

This doctor is a terrible clinician. I took my 83 year old mother in to see her and called ahead of time and spoke to her medical assistant to let her know that my mom has cognitive deficits, but thinks she is 100 percent fine. She is falling, having medication management issues, memory problems, mood changes and does not think she has any deficits. The MA assured me they see plenty of patients like this and the doctor knows how to handle it well. My mom had a brain MRI from the PCP that we needed to go over with Dr. Zhao and have cognitive testing done. Dr. Zhao did not explain clearly the MRI findings rather she showed us the image on the screen which we could not understand. Then she proceeded to pit us against each other by asking my mom if she thought she had cognitive issues, agitation, if she thought she should be driving etc. I had explained all of this to the MA ahead of time and the doctor knew she shouldn’t be driving and that she had cognitive issues which is why we… were there for her to be tested. Dr. Zhao completely mismanaged the entire appointment to the point my mom wouldn’t even take the cognitive test and left there angry and will not go back. So we took a step backwards instead of one forwards which is compromising her care. This doctor belongs in a lab!
