Dr. Yvonne Manyee Choi, MD

Dr. Choi showed very little professionalism during our encounter; she made assumptions about my culture and continued to interrupt me as I was attempting to share my health concerns with her. She is very condescending, and does not allow her patients and the nurse practitioners the chance to speak freely before offering any form of help. She definitely takes advantage over the fact that majority, if not all of her patients come from low income minority backgrounds, and many do not speak English as their first language. This alone allows her to feel entitled in the way she treats her patients, and comfortable in knowing the patients will not talk back. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience at North Central primarily because of her and her unnecessary attitude. A doctor’s job is to SERVE the community, and this comes with making sure the patients feel welcomed.

Started seeing her as my pregnancy was high risk .Awesome in relating info care and procedures.This Dr even promised to look in on me during delivery and to my surprise she did just that up until I delivered my lo and mind you she was scheduled for doing a c section but came in to my room despite.saw her for both my postpartum and iud appointments .I rate Dr Choi one of the best at NCBH!
