Dr. Yvonne Hung, MD

Let me start by saying that my wife and I really like Dr Hung. We saw her twice since our son was born (16 months ago). The problem everyone in Montclair in Glen Ridge seems to be having is that since her office parted ways with the 3rd doctor in the practice, Dr Hung is impossible to schedule. We were stuck with the "other" doctor that nobody seems to want to go to (Based on conversations in their dungeon of a waiting room and 2 families in Starbucks a couple of months ago). After 5 VERY uncomfortable visits with his strange, awkward sense of judgmental humor and basis-less opinions, we finally demanded and appointment with ONLY Dr Hung. 3 Months went by and we could not get them to confirm that Dr Hung would actually be present. Long story short, we have an appointment in 2 days, my wife called to confirm that we would be seeing Dr. Hung and they said she would not be there. My wife said she would like to schedule for her next available day and they told her it would be… another month. My wife said that was unacceptable as we have already waited 3 months. The receptionist then said "ok I guess I'll cancel your appointment" and hung up on her!! There are plenty of doctors out there that will take our Ultra Premium, Fortune 100 Company Healthcare plan. Dr Hung is good, but not good enough to have to deal with her office's manners and weird business partner.

I was very disillusioned when I moved to town and my 8 year old was very sick with strep throat. They refused to see her at all and told me "We don't take Medicaid; private insurance only". They refused to even take my money to be billed without insurance! How can a doctor who specializes in caring for children be so careless. Health care should not be for the 1% of Americans. It's not Medicaid when I pay for it! It's discriminatory and elitist.
