Dr. Zaher Elmir, MD

My entire experience was very unprofessional. My name is Maggie Davis, my doctor was Dr. Zaher Elmir. I asked questions about something on my leg, inquiring about what it was. I asked “is it a bite?” to which I got the response “Could be” and then I asked if it was an infected ingrown hair and got another “Could be” with a shrug. He also asked my major in school, to which I got a laugh in response (I asked what earned the laugh and he said oh nothing - I honestly felt like I was being made fun of). I got zero answers regarding what my infection was caused by and when I was prescribed antibiotics, I was given a paper and was told “alright have a good day”. I had to quickly ask before he walked away if there was anything I should know side-effect wise with the medication, and the doctor says “Oh yeah, you might have some nausea with ___, etc”. I felt like I had to ask for everything, felt very ignored, and left feeling like I was not cared for at all. The woman at the front was extremely… kind, however, and I heavily appreciated her warmness.

I wish Dr Elmir had a private practice in this area as I would go to him. I am looking for one in this area.

Doctor Elmir was rude and disrespectful, and behaved as if he did not believe I was injured. He didn't examine me, or make any effort to evaluate me physically. He berated me for coming in 20 minutes before their closing time, and accused me of faking to get narcotics. He told me, (because I have insurance through Medicaid) that I wasn't even paying for my office visit, that he was. After leaving this clinic, I had to go to the local ER for help. Because of Doctor Elmir's horrible attitude, my insurance was charged twice that day, and I had to suffer in excruciating pain for longer than was necessary. I really can not understand how, with his attitude, he remains in business. He doesn't deserve a license to practice medicine.
