Dr Beams is amazing!

Dr Beam really takes the time to listen to patients. Her caring spirit engages the children and youth while her expertise is communicated in a way both patient and parent/guardian understand with ease. My 15 yr old actually looks forward to seeing her! Doesn't even mind the shots. It's like their buddies because Dr Beams shows she cares about her interests in her life, hobbies, sports as well as her health.

Dr. Beams is the best pediatrician around. She is so caring and kind and truly wants to help. She talks to parents with so much respect and compassion and always explains things if needed. She LOVES the children she sees and always talks to them about what they are doing, how they have been and what their interests are. Wait time is minimal and there is transparency in the way this office works...it's wonderful. This practice is truly remarkable and there is nothing else around like it! They now have added Dr. Tessie Aikara and she's a doll as well and sees families which is amazing. You can do all of your doctor visits in one place with a superb pediatrician and amazing family doctor.

I know Dr Beams is the winner of the local pediatrician popularity contests and she has many fans, but I also know that I am not the only one who has had a bad experience. I was warned by another mom that she can minimize things that could mean a hospital visit for your kid. To make a long story short, we had issues minimized too and ended up at a hospital. We had numerous problems that I could list here, but primarily, I had untreated/misdiagnosed mastitis and my baby got malnourished. Serious business and they just didn't handle it right. Even if you want to stay with her for her engaging personality, just understand that if you or your baby is having issues, and this place is not helping you, don't be afraid to go somewhere else for a second opinion, because something could really be wrong. The office is also known for spotty front desk support.

1. She told the hospital my newborn was fine to go home.. 1 day later we were rushed to johns Hopkins because my daughter had hypothermia, low heart rate, and low respiratory rate.2. Sh never has enough time to talk. When I was there she would rug out of the room every time. We never knew when we were down and several times the nurse would come in and ask us why we were still sitting there3. She take patients without an appointment (for a wellness appointment) before people with appointments!4. The girl at the front desk is a nit-wit! She has no idea what the heck she's doing.. She lost my paperwork several times. Every time I went in there I wa filling out the same paperwork

Dr Beams cares for our 3 children. She is a fantastic doctor. All of my children have asthma and there are many times that she has come in on weekends to examine the child and determine a course of action to prevent a hospitalization and ensure a speedy recovery. When one of our children has been ill, she often follows up with me to see how he/she is doing. She really cares about the children and doesn't hesitate to get involved. When my son was hospitalized for asthma and pneumonia, Dr Beams was on vacation. Even on vacation she got involved in my son's care by calling Children's Hospital to make sure all was going well. The best way to contact Dr Beams is to text her. We love her and highly recommend her. She has a great bedside manner as well as excellent diagnostic skills.

Dr. Beams is a unique doctor. She has a preventative, wholistic approach coupled with rigor and genuine caring and curiosity for her patients and their health. She is accessible over email, texting and phone and does home visits when needed, something I have never experienced before. She is thoughtful about the whole picture of the patient, not just treating the immediate symptom that is showing at the time, and is thorough in her questions and exploration of issues. I feel lucky we have found her as a doctor and wish I could find a doctor for myself with her skills and style of practicing medicine.
