Dr. Delbert C Ritchey, OD

I went to update my contacts prescription as a first-time patient. He rushed through the process, had me try lenses that I immediately knew weren’t correct, and tweaked my prescription without letting me try it. I ordered contacts hoping they’d be right. They weren’t. I went to adjust my prescription again. He gave me 3 lenses to try as if I was trying on shoes in a shoe store. Each time he used scissors to cut off some of the foil. I didn’t think about it much because I was more concerned about selecting the correct contacts by trial and error. I left with 4 lenses to wear while new contacts came in. I compared the foil to others and saw the section he cut off has the expiration date. I could still see that they expired over 2 years ago. I’m upset that he can’t correctly write a simple prescription, knowingly risked my health, and tried to deceive me by removing the expiration date. I will never go back to Dr. Ritchey/Pearle Vision, and plan to report this unethical behavior.
