Dr. Simmons is a perfect combination of: confidante, wise mentor, caring friend, and a non-judgmental presence. I loved our 5-minute meditation sessions beforehand. This practice helped me ground myself and taught me how to be in tune with my inner self. Many times the session would go a totally different direction than I had expected, because she would preface it by asking me “What feels important today? What are you curious about?” She took the time to get to know me and would jot down important points that I would share and would follow up on them. She knew when to just listen and hold space for me. She showed empathy and cried with me, laughed with me, and championed me. She helped me set small goals and would be thrilled when I succeeded in implementing them into my life. She has been a tremendous resource for me as a single working mom. A true gem.
