Highly Unprofessional and Irresponsible Conduct at Coal Creek Family Medicine My visit to Coal Creek Family Medicine yesterday was for a persistent cough, shortness of breath, and low blood oxygen levels. The experience was unprofessional from the start. A nurse performed a nasal swab for flu and COVID-19 tests that was so quick—two seconds in each nostril—I believe it was insufficient for a proper sample. When I raised this concern with PA Julie King, she dismissively suggested their tests might not need proper swabbing time, which I found concerning. My blood oxygen was measured twice. The first reading was 93%, but the second, taken over several minutes, fluctuated between a critical 86% and 89%. This is a level that can indicate a medical emergency. Despite this, the PA did not seem to be appropriately concerned, and the after-visit summary falsely listed my blood oxygen as 93%. This is a dangerous misrepresentation of a crucial medical record. PA King diagnosed me with what she… believed was viral bronchitis and promised to send prescriptions for a steroid and an inhaler yesterday afternoon so I could start the treatment this morning. This promise was completely broken. This morning, I called the pharmacy to find the prescriptions had never been sent. I made my first call to the office and was told a note would be sent to the PA. After hours passed with no update, I made a second call and was told that they would look into it. About another 40 minutes later, I finally received an update that PA King had forgotten the prescriptions but they were finally sent. I checked the pharmacy website and saw the prescription for the inhaler, but the steroid was still missing. I had to make a third call to follow up on the missing medication. The repeated failures to send a critical prescription were not only frustrating but also irresponsible and put my health at serious risk.
