AVOID THIS DENTAL PRACTICE! After one of "Healthy Smiles" dental assistants shattered my tooth when taking off the temporary cap, the dentist coldly informed me that I would be charged an additional $5,000 for an implant to replace it. My husband and I had already sacrificed some personal items to come up with the $1,800 for the root canal and crown that was to go on this same tooth. Consequently, I went into cardiac arrest while still in their office and had heart surgery the next day. After we refused to sign a release of responsibility to obtain a refund for the crown, we demanded the refund and got it. We were then informed that they would extract the tooth root and also cover the cost of the implant, although, this would be done at their sister office in Ormond Beach. In fact, the then office manager there verified that HS would be paying for the implant. After HS cancelled an appointment to have that done, we received a phone call from their new office manager one day… before the new appointment to inform us that they were NOT going to cover the cost of the implant. In other words, they refused responsibility for breaking my tooth and then backed out of their assurances to make it right. Others may be happy with how HS cleans their teeth and how the employees are so friendly. As for my experience with HS, it is obvious that this corporate styled business places their greed above the fair expectations of their patients. There are many other good and honorable dentists so avoid Healthy Smiles if you value your teeth.
