Premium Healthcare

When this place became premium healthcare, it really took a turn. I think I was spoiled with how Dr. Rolando Pénate and his amazing staff were when this was a more private practice. After becoming premium healthcare, it seems like every time I go there is new staff, new faces, and they’re not all welcoming. When I brought my son in today, without an appointment, because he’s not feeling well, I was asked to come back two hours later. The office manager made it seem like the doctor’s lunch was more important than my son’s health. Ultimately, I put my foot down and said that I was not leaving and that it’s their responsibility to have doctors available to see children, especially when they are sick and there is walk-ins. It does not seem like they care too much about the patient experience anymore. They were quick to tell me my insurance is out of date and make me go look for my insurance information so they could charge the insurance company. I remember when I first took my son… here, he was four days old and Dr. Pénate and his staff were just wonderful. The way they welcomed us every time we came in, the way the doctor was happy to see the kids, it was truly a blessing. Now, it seems like we are an inconvenience to this office. I will be doing my best to find a new pediatrician very soon!
